I can remember other events...you missed N'SYNC in Cinergy for one. Billy Graham in PBS. GABP has hosted Matt Maupin, GW, etc. http://www.cincinnati.com/reds/goodbyecinergy/entertainment.html

I also had much more appreciation for GABP's coziness after visit New Busch which seems cavernous by comparison and only seats ~5k more.
  3. ^Similarly in Michael Jackson's "Beat It" you can hear the producer knock on the studio door, then open it and shut it just as Eddie Van Halen launches into his guitar solo. Anybody know why Fox 92.5 and Radio 94.1 come in much softer on my car radio than 102.7. 105.1 or 107.1?
  4. Ludlow Lagoon was not on the river as I understand it. Near but not on.

Edmund Burke seems to disagree. Just curious if you ever read anything with an opposing viewpoint. I tend to believe there is ample oil left in more expensive forms but I am delighted that oil prices are creating demand for alternate technology and resources. Is this foolish? I thought Gov. Schwarzenegger's decision yesterday is well aligned with the philosophy I espouse: "There is ample yet increasingly expensive oil left in the ground. Ultimately drilling for more will not be the solution. Weaning our dependence on oil is." Especially in the USA.

Volume. Food product requires higher level of perceived purity to attain comfort...which is inferred by a high price. So what do you guys think will be the long term effect of the subsidized gasoline in PRC? It will have to come home to roost sooner or later :|

I think all of this about "making his mom realize he is a man now and she is being overbearing" (my perception of what has been said, I suppose) is bunk! All she is doing is asking him what he is up to and where he has been/is going and basically meddling. Mom's need to do that...and do! Seicer, I understand you want to do what you want to do and I encourage you to do so...very diplomatically. What you don't want to do is make your mother feel inadequate or permanently scar your lifelong relationship with Mom over some short trips you want to take over the next few weeks. (If your new gig is THAT good you will have vacation time and expendable income.) A big part of being a "man" is picking your battles and balancing your wants with others needs. Weigh your travel plans with your Mom's actualization and love for you in five years and there is your answer.

My grandfather chewed the rope stuff. http://www.cwdlp.com/twist.htm My mom tells "great" stories of being rewarded with a nickel for emptying the cuspidor. I throw in a dip of Hawken for softball games.

Here is the building in the center... http://maps.google.com/maps?q=cvg&ie=UTF8&ll=39.054876,-84.661455&spn=0.002066,0.004656&t=h&z=18
  11. I was listening to the iPod this AM and the Spice Girls came on... They have no accents...then I thought, neither does George Michael or Elton John (their not all gay either). or The Beatles. Why do most Euro's, etc. sound American when singing? It is b/c American English is the "only true English"? Xenocentric, I know.

Thank you for posting this. Where did this come from? I have a 2 yo who seems to be ahead of the curve on numbers, letters, words and colors. We say (as all parents would for their child) that he is intelligent. My father (a highly intelligent yet testy man in his own right) responds that "this is not intelligence"..."intelligence is measured by problem solving." I contested that his definition was too narrow...this seems to support me.
  13. ^Do you remember how - if you were headed south into KY - that the bridge unbelievably got narrower about 1/3 of the way across? I would guess the lanes were no more than 9' at the narrowest.
  14. ^I tend to agree but don't forget the removal of old and construction of new stadiums/bridge...I also tend to minimize these b/c they are public but those have certainly altered the skyline radically. Also, Scripps, Chemed, 312. Maybe 1992 to 2000 would be static.
  15. There seems to be a little bit of fallacy here. It is anecdotal but it seems to me that telecommuting "type" jobs tend to involve labor that has not been commoditized. Example: The work from home executive/manager as opposed to the rank and file phone sales rep.
  16. Bumping this old thread. Any other good old pics you guys have dug up?
  17. The first 2 minutes or so of Part 9 was filmed on KY 20 near CVG as it descends toward KY 20 and the Ohio River. You can clearly see the KY 20 and KY 8 signs in the action. Also, the house with the old people still exists. And is it me or is the Taylor Southgate Bridge missing?
  18. Well I feel a little excited about shovels actually being turned. Also, could they go ahead and construct all the garages? I thought all the funding had been secured to build all of the garages necessary to elevate out of the flood plain. I'm sure the answer is in this thread but, well...you know.
  19. I would love and updated photo of this project.

  21. Anybody notice this thread turned 4 years old yesterday? The first pic didn't show up for me so here it is
  22. OT, but: This is why Jonathan Hawgood is a breath of fresh...he loves this city and it shows in his broadcasts.
  23. Why they wouldn't continue fundraising so that the operating expenses could be funded by annuities on an endowment is beyond me. Do they do this?
  24. Doesn't say this on their webcast. http://www.700wlw.com/cc-common/news/sections/newsarticle.html?feed=&article=3248049

You must visit often to know this. Once a year is enough to remind me how big a loser I am.
