I've had the beers they plan on making, a blond ale and a Belgium ale. I'm not as discerning a pallet as some, but more discerning than your average beer guy I guess (my favorite has long been Sierra Nevada Pale Ale). Both of the beers are very good, the Belgium seemed a little stronger, maybe more rich? I don't know, you'll need someone who can speak to the various complexities.

long time, no news. So here's the update: currently in talks with a tech company looking to move from the burbs into Tyler. talking to another company that would bring 20 to 100 jobs to NEO and loves Tyler. Have two internet companies looking at relocating from eastern suburbs into Tyler as well as an architectural firm. Indigo Imp Brewery's space is being built out right now, and they will be operational in time for our Brews of the World broker social. Our retail parking spots are being finished off as I type this, with plans on going forward on our parking garage in building 44 and 44A. More as they come. More as soon as I can
  5. Thanks. I'm glad the county sold it, upset they purchased it at all. classy, w28th. bingo.. well, except all the contractors licking their chops on the subs coming out of that deal. (I can here 'em now: "come on big money, my F1-50 needs a fill up!")
  6. could somebody please sign me up for this? The county pays $32 million to jacobs trust plus maybe another $3 million in fees etc last august, PLUS another $5 million or so in asbestos remediation. THen K&D pays $33,050,000 and claims they have a win because they created a demand? If you or I ran a company like that, we'd be fired.. or given a $30 million golden parachute, so go figure.
  7. east 20th has it's problems already with the Men's shelter over on lakeside (I'm sure building owners and business operators in the area were pleased by that move). I know I've got a soup kitchen operating close to my building that I'd pay to have closed down and moved to another area, as would probably many of the residents living in and around the area would. I'll trade you my soup kitchen for your Heaven and Earth bar and call it a day. At least I know the operator of H&E will have an interest in keeping his patrons from committing crimes around his establishment.
  8. I think OC/Det.SW could support a good music venue, especially if that venue had other streams of income outside of just doing shows and serving PBR tall boys. Good venues normally have a scene that's been built around them, that's always the challenge because you can't just say, "make a scene." It's much more organic than that.
  9. or maybe the Wire, only hopefully without the political BS.. probably impossible.
  10. hey, you can always use my storefront on Lorain if need be.. gonna have to chip in for heat though!
  11. Nice that they stayed in the city, but seems strange that they would move away from the "design district". difference between owning and renting I guess.
  12. hey, that's the 2nd architecture firm to move in and around that Fulton street/Lorain ave area.. Anybody who knows another, tell 'em to give me an IM.. I'll gladly let an architecture firm build out space at the my Oddfellows building.

I think there is more than enough room for other brewery's in Cleveland. Especially now that you see beer being treated like wine with food pairings etc..

new micro brew is called "Indigo Imp Brewery" They signed on yesterday. They plan on having 2 specific beers made there, and eventually adding more styles. We've linked them up with multiple restaurants already. Some day they may want to have a bar or a store front out of their space, but for the initial start up phase they will brew and distribute.

starting off as just a facility. If thing go real well they want to add a retail component of some kind, be it a pub or otherwise.

We did look at historic tax credits but there were various problems concerning how the development is set up.. they look at us as a complex in some scenarios and as individual building in others.. We are getting some tax credits, but not much. We are building out angled parking for retail users and guest parking. We also plan on making the front of superior more inviting. We just got a multi media advertising and event planning group called Nirvanna (spelled with 2 n's) Media to move in. We are also down the road with a brewery.. pretty excited by the prospect of a brewery here, if for only selfish reasons!

fyi, had a tech business from Solon looking to move it's offices to Cleveland visit Tyler recently. It will be a solid pick up for the city regardless, hopefully Tyler will get to be the landlord.

Also, one of our new tenants just won a nortech award, here's the full story if you haven't seen it: http://blog.cleveland.com/business/2007/11/shaheen_samavatiplain_dealer_r.html Seven win NorTech Innovation Awards Posted by Shaheen Samavati November 13, 2007 09:45AM NorTech highlighted seven innovative ideas that have come out of Northeast Ohio at an awards ceremony in Westlake this morning. 20. Crime needs to be addressed all over the city. I know my building keeps getting broken into over on Lorain.. I also know that the culprits are from the same pool of people eating free food two buildings down at the soup kitchen. Part of the problem is that we aren't done securing the building properly as we build it out, but still, it's pretty aggravating that there are so many loiterers just wandering around the site all day (or sitting on the freakin' stoop). The same 10 to 15 people. As someone who is into urban design, you tend to not want to make your building look like a fortress, but there is the practical side of things that make you feel you have to. God knows the Cleveland Police have enough to worry about. That said, Finding a way to beef up patrols all over the city is one step.
  21. Unless you have to sell a home to buy a new one, now is a great time to be in the buyers market, assuming you can get financing. but maybe he or she has to sell a house first before being able to purchase another. yep, thus:"Unless you have to sell a home to buy a new one" I am very worried about the stability in Ohio City and Detroit Shoreway. On one hand, it's a great opportunity for first time buyers, but peabody is correct about more boarded up houses on their way.

FYI: The Factory plans on serving a breakfast menu soon. It's already a main stop for lunch for the various Tyler workers, now it could be a 'round the clock place!

I don't know that it's a shame. If a group is growing, they need the space to grow. If you can't find it in your downtown office you look in midtown.. or out of town, and nobody wants that, at least here.

Long time no update: 1. Factory Restaurant is open for business, comfort food/pub fare. 2. a 44,000 SF office user (relocating from the CBD) is far down the road in talks to finish off building 44... we'll see. 3. Skylight's for 7th floor going in as I type, here's a photo: 4. The whole Village is wireless now. 5. a tech-wing of one of the local colleges is looking at 4,000 SF pretty seriously. So that's the haps. be good. WW
