  1. These are the owners of Matsu in Shaker that moved to the Square and changed the restauarant quite a but. I enjoyed the food but its a lot trendier and $$$ than the old place and they didn't have maki options on the menu which was dissappointing. It was the opening night so maybe they will add that later. Hope so.

Um, I don't think that would happen even if he wanted to come here AND he wasn't such an egomaniac. We have nothing to offer LA for him.
  3. he was on last night in a head to head w/ the iron chef himself. never watched the show until last night. Symon lost but i think he was robbed. Who are those judges anyways.

no news on the shannon brown beating?? Come on PD.
  5. My waitress at otto moser's said it was a pizza place and she thought it was a national place. She got the pizza part right. Good news either way.
  6. anyone know which pizza chain is going in on euclid in the hannah bldg across from the playhouse?
  7. The link is dead, but i did see it earlier on youtube. Great TV. I don't think Wayne knew what he was saying. Kenny knew what that meant though and was having trouble controlling himself.
  8. I agree. Euclid doesn't look too depressing until you get East of East 55th. between there and 79th or so, its WWII Europe reincarnated. Hopefully more projects will be announced here as this thing nears completion. I think I saw Tom Hanks trying to save Matt Damon last time I drove by.
  9. It seems like they are developing a nice little neighborhood of residents on E 4th. Obviously this is only part of the equation, as the suburbanites are necessary as well, but I think it attracts a great mix of people from residents to downtown workers to people going out before or after a game around the corner to suburbanites as well clevelanders looking for a nice place to go out. The area is definitely not a transplant of the WHD. WHD is basically restaurants and bars, while E 4th has more entertainment mixed in. I think the only way it doesn't continue to succeed is if downtown loses a bunch of employers, and if the the increasing number of people wanting to live downtown reverses for some reason.

Ah The Front Row. I remember Slim Goodbody put on a heck of a performance there as well. Must have been 20 years ago. I don't remember when it closed but was physically removed when the shopping center currently in place there was built.

I like a lot of music that comes from across the pond as well. How funny is though that The Traveling Wilburys re-release is #1 in the UK this week. Not that i blame them.
  12. ^^ Very nice! Cleveland could use Tony Stark.

I think if they lose we all should be allowed to wear jeans. That would be depressing to get swept.
  14. That was totally uncalled for! How do you know a) those patrons are thugs and b) they are gun toting? I've been to the Mirage as well as others on this board and I'm far from a gun toting thug. Just a guess, but maybe he read this article recently http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2007/05/gunshot_victim_identified.html Not saying I agree or disagree because honestly i have never been and have no plan to ever go, but the place doesn't have the best reputation.
  15. I send them to the local shop in the colonial arcarde. I do miss the old DD that was there. There coffee is top notch. I think a nice local donut shot would be perfect for the WHD. Is that Gilly's (Presti's) still open on the East Bank?
  16. Don't worry, their is no H&M going in.

What if I am in the bar for my daily 2 beers as recommended by my doctor to help prevent cardiovascular disease? 8-)

It sounds like BQ is going to need some work so hopefully he realized this and tells Condon not to F around. I just hope Braylon doesn't give him any advice. :-)
  19. It's not a $$ thing at all. I just have had quality issues with their clothes so I stay away.
  20. Bashing LeBron in the Crocker Park forum. That's a new one. H&M is garbage though. I give you that.
  21. That would make too much sense.
  22. Agreed. At first I was a bit shocked but I think it could be a lot worse. The effect on some of the other non adult businesses right there is my major concern though.

Would have been nice if Heartland used the tudor style for the Avalon I to begin with. It would have fit it more. We know they have the ability to do it nicely. Heartland Developers also did South Park Row behind Shaker Square and those are beautiful tudor townhomes. I guess they wanted to mix it up a bit.

Just enjoy the ride. The cavs are underdogs in a big way this series so they have nothing to lose. We as fans needs to just sit back and enjoy it. Now if we do the traditional "cleveland sports" thing and end up getting the Spurs on the ropes only to blow it in the end, I just might move to Antarctica. Most were not expecting us to reach the eastern conference finals given the up and down regular season. Either way we will look back at this and remember it as a very exciting time for the city and its fans.

I think we have a legitimate shot. The Cavs generally play to the level of their competition (bad when we play Charlotte or the Knicks) so I expect a highly competitive 7 games. I am worried about Tony Parker more than Duncan. He is so fast and gets to the lane. Those are the types of PG's that kill us. The only hope is that Gibson can stay in front of him since he is our fastest guard. Hughes was key against the Pistons because Billups couldn't bully Hughes like he does most point guards because of his size, but Parker is a different style and a Hughes that is not 100% (or even 75% for that matter) will have a hard time staying with Parker. Gibson may need to start for that reason alone.
