  4. ^^ the impression i get is not many of the buildings in that corner of downtown have views to speak of. I think it might be unreasonable for every development to have to have views to be successful. They are taking a chance sure...but good for them.
  5. ^ interesting. i was unaware that the parking would extend around that back side...but there will still be a surface lot between this garage and 312. even reworking the parking lot and adding some trees would do wonders and probably be much appreciated by tenants in both projects.
  6. well ill sure get a first hand look at this project...all i have to do is tilt my head up from my computer and there it is! It would be great is someone would turn the parking between this building and parker flats into a green space. obviously that would be great for residents in the area and workers from 302 W 3rd. Unfortunately i doubt that would ever happen since a lot of visitor spots from 302 are there and most likely some for the tenants of the existing residential buildings. Fantastic that these folks see the potential in the building. From what i can see through the windows the spaces are quite nice but the exterior will need a lot of work.
  7. ^ for completely legitimate reasons the USS Cincinnati was not allowed to be here. is it not true that its class has not been declassified? i agree...if Delta Queen lands anywhere other than New Orleans or Cincinnati it would truely be a shame. Certainly many of the small river cities along the ohio and mississippi would make their claim. they'd see it as a tourist attraction for the 10 people that visit those places each year. it should be on display in a larger area where it can truely be shown off. some sort of incorporation into the riverfront park would be phenominal.

  10. well of course they have a personal connection to the project. they will begin construction once they have enough presales...plain and simple.
  11. ^ i dont disagree that the delays are for a legitimate reasons. im just saying the gregory's or going to be more conservative...if they had been operating under the "lets do it anyway" mindset i imagine they would have started construction already.
  12. i was at atlantic station this weekend...i offer those involved with this project to exercise EXTREME caution when making approvals for design. some of the cheapest construction and worst design i have ever encountered. anybody ever heard of stenciled brick? its everywhere!!!!!!!!! it might as well be eifs...terrible terrible stuff. when i have more time i may offer a more detailed critique
  13. This project has been filled with "missed" deadlines and delays...going on what..three years now? Im pretty sure the Gregory's are very worried about this. You'd think with all the connections they must have in the city they'd of sold a few more than 18 by now. I dont imagine the family fortune is so vast that they can take a 140 million gamble like that. Maybe im wrong, but i think there is every reason to doubt this project. Also whos to say that demolition means anything? All anyone needs to say is 5th and Race.

  24. ^ this sounds interesting. Following through with decking plans would have an IMMEDIATE impact on the oh-so neglected north side of 3rd street. Trouble is most existing buildings have focused their service components...or no components at all to the 3rd street frontage. Hopefully this indicates a greater possibility of actually covering FWW.
  25. Dear Mr Butler, You're full of shi*t. I have to assume that when the writer of this article mentions the "region" they are really only considering NKY....otherwise the're out of their mind. The implication here is that Ovation would have a greater economic impact than downtown Cincinnati?
