  1. that old non-flood aerial of UT and vicinity makes me sick every time i see it. Everything start with a vision and as far fetched as some of these ideas may be...its great that at least someone is thinking about it.
  2. yeah, this is really a great vision. such a building feels so out of place surrounded by modern and run down industral sites. this project would really make union terminal "pop"
  3. Certainly there are not the same demographics that exist in Eastern Norwood but there is some relatively decent housing stock to the immediate north and northeast of the site that could stand to benefit from the economic investment and improved image through that corridor. P Ridge isnt too far down the road either. Im not saying that this is going to be a rookwood commons...and thats certainly not the intent of the developers. But i think businesses will jump all over this office space similarly to how they did at cornerstone etc. Well just have to site back and see....its really not a bad looking building either.
  4. well im disappointed that we will still have to wait before construction starts but i suppose 28 percent sold is better than nothing. at least that thing is finally coming down!
  5. ^ at least none that they have told anybody about yet. and whats wrong with looking to the future isnt that what real estate investment is all about? i dont recall them saying they were going to start on new projects tomorrow. this location has all of the benefits of each of the previous norwood developments (except for perhaps being a little further away from rookwood commons, but its still a 5 minute car ride) so i dont think there is any reason to doubt that this will be successfull as well.
  6. ^ yeah i know...wishfull thinking but interesting none the less.
  7. the easement is associated with the purple people bridge approaches though, right? i still think the banquet center should move close to fountain square.
  8. whew! i thought for sure this was going to be gobbled up by the abandoned cincy project monster. good news indeed.
  9. holy crap...relax twosense. as a public forum im pretty sure than any and everybody should be allowed to contribute in whatever way they feel best fit. Just because its not up to your personal standard has no bearing on whether or not its cut out for Urban Ohio. Give me a break.
  10. they have just as much reason to spell out the Miami game being at Fifth Third as they would if the game were being played at US Bank.
  11. the road improvements are going to do wonders for that intersection....and the roads in general. they are absolutely terrible right there. certain spots on montgomery are worn down to the old pavers...usually you dont get to see that kind of stuff untill the are tearing it up for resurfacing.
  12. my guess is that they are building just one tower...but the entire garage. i would say the size of the garage would definately justify the need for a second tower crane because of its length...and the crane is probably as tall as it is to reach most of the floors but not all when its not being used for the garage.
  13. if this has already been said...im going to say it again. switching to an apartment dominated first phase of development (3/1) will ensure that the banks be populated quite quickly...at least much more so if they had to be purchased. whats most intelligent about this is that down the road, when the housing market comes back on line the apartments can be "converted" and sold as condos if thats desired.
  14. who cares about the damn quote...obviously it was a waste of a sentence. the point he was obviously attempting to make is that it will be unique...please let us move on.
  15. ^ "surface parking" was the key word in LincolnKennedys post.
  16. from what i understand work has already started...perhaps only on the interior as of now
  17. wow...what a great inside source you have become nicker. keep the good information coming.
  18. ^^ im all for someone new taking the skyline lead. its definately time to pass the torch. what also also might be neat : by breaking the so called "pyramid"... by building further away from carew she can still remain destinquished in the skyline. they would appear identical from any great distance as far as height goes and one wouldnt necessarily overpower the other. think wtc/empire state building. i like qcs where it is and i like that it would be taller.
  19. i think it can be taller and still have our tapered effect...it just means you have to building something even taller at fountain square west!
  20. Booooh yah, nicker....Boooh yah. Remember a few months ago when someone posted Western & Southern/Eagle would have a significant development announcement this summer? Anybody think it might be this as apposed to 5th and Race?
  21. ^^ Good news! ^ Good News!
  22. I just dont get it...from a forum that screams a desire for diversity in our city. Get over the fact that some of you dont like country music and see this for what it is...another experience UNIQUE to downtown and a place that will without a doubt add to its positive momentum.
  23. "I sat at the corner and saw our customers turn around," Roden said. "I saw five cars in 10 minutes that made the loop and turn around." Im sure they werent customers...just Kentucky folk that were lost.
  24. y'all are crazy if you think people wont go to this place because its country affiliation. country music is just as popular here as it is anywhere...except of course nashville. i think this place will be hoppin. i hate country.
