Newport, KY: SouthShore Condominiums
"...architect Daniel Libeskind's 22-story Ascent at Roebling's Bridge in Covington, which will have blue tints to it, like the SouthShore buildings" So no other buildings in the metro can have blue in them without someone thinking it was copied from daniel libeskind? give me a break! "This building probably wouldn't go anywhere else. It has to be built on this location." thats laughable. i like the designs a lot...i think they are very slick but there is absolutely nothing unique about them.

Cincinnati Public Schools: Development and News
wow! i had never fully understood the extent of the withrow campus. the football field must really be a neat place to watch games...Nippert-like in some ways. is that public housing in the bottom right hand corner of that aerial image?

Cincinnati: General Business & Economic News
did Scripps move to cincinnati or was it born here? Seems a little scary to think what might happen given trends for companies to relocate southward, especially if they have most of their assets in tennessee.

Cincinnati: General Transit Thread
^ perhaps you missed the part where it said "in 1974". it was an interesting idea none the less. a night club would have been pretty cool...im thinking the movie Blade...ha

Cincinnati: Downtown - Parker Flats
i walked by the lot after work and it looks like all they did was punch a hole in the pavement close to one of the existing buildings. i did see the filled in holes where the goetechnical engineers must have taken their core samples. in any event...the backhoe is gone and so is the dumptruck. all that remains is a hole filled with gravel and a temporary fence.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown - Parker Flats
i saw there was some digging equipment and a dumptruck on site this morning. but there was also half a parking lot full of cars so im not sure what exactly they were doing. there was also a police car up there so maybe some people were going to get towed.

Bored in Cincinnati?
i think too many people associate "things to do" with beaches. its amazing how a little ocean water and slightly warmer temperatures make a city "fun"

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
i think there is an echo in here

Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
i have seen renderings of the original plan for that site including the towers they had proposed...pretty cool stuff. nothing extreme by any stretch...but nice.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
PhattyNati replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Constructionhaha...nice. the project is looking good but i will feel a whole lot more comfortable with it once they start cladding that building. it just seems like that whole portion of the design is something that could get cut off because of lack of cooperation from 5/3 or anything. its is also nice that they havent turned their back on the 6th street side of the banking center.

-
Cincinnati: Evanston: Development and News
i love how 71 is depicted in that photoreal digital rendering. the buildings do sort of remind me of the buildings north of 275 on 71...one used to be quantum or something...just more glass. oh well
-
Cincinnati: Downtown - Parker Flats
i think it looks pretty nice...so long as they use decent materials and not Eifs. it will clean up the view of that corner of town quite nicely. im curious to see a site plan of it though to know how far back on mcfarland it goes.

Cincinnati: Downtown - Parker Flats
i cant seem to find it

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
"Sorry, I still don't see them. Are they the buildings added to the park area?" They mean that each individual apartment building would have its own garage. Probably typical of the way most urban housing developements are designed today....a few levels of parking with housing units built on levels above.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
"Not a fan of all that glass" They should just clad it in some good ole Cincinnati Brick! I think the glass is fantastic.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
i think there should be a "gripe about cincinnati" thread that way most of these topics can stay on topic...its getting a little annoying
