Carew from 14 miles away?!
ive noticed coming south on 42, a little ways north of 1-275 (west chester!) you can actually see a pretty substantial portion of the skyline (more than just the carew anyway). At that point on 42 you are pretty well out of the valley so its a good vantage point

so far skyscrapers.com is the only site to recognize it as a proposed project

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
the more i think about it the more i believe the screen is appropriate as it will hide the slanting concrete decks a little better than the glass. it would be fine if it had a little integrity or if it actually added to the buildings detailing...like the mesh on paul brown or great american. but the stuff in that mock-up looks like it was ripped out from somebody's screen door and stapled in there.

does anybody know if there was a building adjacent to the existing garage that has been demolished? as long as i can remember and in any photographs i have seen the brick veneer has been missing from that portion, but i don’t remember a building being there.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
is that metal screen in the bottom portion? it looks like they put it on that building to see how the mess of concrete decking from the garage will read through glass...but i hope they dont clad the garage levels with that screen
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
typically they do mock-ups to check the system for leaking and what not...but they usually do those tests on the building itself

looks like some excellent insider potential!

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
yeah i remember all that good stuff. plus leaving the garage gives uninformed people enough existing context for them to know where it is actually located

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
this rendering has been around for a while. i think its already in this thread actually. it has always troubled me why the existing parking garage is so prevelant in the rendering. sort of makes me think phase two is just a dream, which i guess it probably is.

Yup. Neyer used arquitectonica for the proposed Broadway Tower at St. Xavier Park, and if i understand correctly, Neyer is involved with this project too. I think we should all hold off judgment until the thing is actually finished simply because i dont think tectonica would produce something as bad as we all think this is. Nicer points of the building are that they have broken up the facades with color and material to compliment the scale of smaller buildings in the area...even the exposed garage portion has been treated this way. architectonica has detailed these design elements very well in other buildings they have done...details that would be impossible to pick up in the provided renderings.

No, the problem with cincy is that people can be so damn negative about EVERYTHING. Everybody can tell that this is not a world class building...nor does it need to be. Let us also not forget that originally it was just going to be the parking garage and somebody from CINCINNATI said thats not good enough.

^ i certainly agree with you. arquitectonica is a big time design firm that doesnt mess around when it comes to their residential buildings, im just not impressed with the drawing...makes the building look bad.

Cincinnati: OTR: Gateway Condos/Kroger Garage
i doubt those color pencil "renderings" are doing the design fair justice ....the drawings look like crap in general
