  1. Well I guess we do know that it can support two additional floors
  2. https://www.cincinnati.com/picture-gallery/news/2021/01/30/historic-photos-19th-century-race-street-building/4325172001/?fbclid=IwAR3cTCQi6SCNvQChoUp_oBHBd1JTEHB07x1m3H9mk9LlQWRbXtpfi5BAmxI A few more historic photos that make up the Chong buildings. You can see the detail a bit more in these photos
  3. I agree restoration of the historic façade will definitely give that stretch of my Race Street a new vibe. In regards to Shillito and the article façade I believe that the façade is actually an expansion to the original building as well
  4. http://www.diggingcincinnati.com/2021/01/you-never-know-what-lies-beneath.html?fbclid=IwAR3CQZkVKl082qNJdmP_lCefDMoEq76e-uhVMRv1SqSn_Mc1tvGySk5U_S4 We have a Hannaford and a fire. Great history of the site in the article above
  5. https://www.taketheday.com/Business-changing-Cincinnati/The-Chong-Inc-Facade-3cdc/i-8BQdxch More recent photos of the façade removal
  6. Earlier in the thread there are photos of the backs of the building which would indicate the age is probably close to what the county has. The Chong Looks like it may have lost one or two stories. I guess I’ll have to wait and see once more of the façade is revealed and we have a better understanding of what windows are hidden behind. But something definitely looks off
  7. This is the closest photo that I could find though the height of the building looks much shorter than what’s in the picture despite the fact the county has the Chong listed as being built in 1865 so I’m wondering if these buildings were reduced in height at some point
  8. I was down in OTR around Christmas and noticed that Bonobos has closed its Guideshop.
  9. I believe the article has the institutions reversed with fifth third bank having $202 billion and KeyBank having $170.5 billion. https://www.bankrate.com/banking/biggest-banks-in-america/ this source has fifth third listed as $202 billion and number 14. KeyBank is not mentioned at all. I believe this is using third quarter data
  10. I’m not sure you have the asset size correct for 5/3 and Key. I believe 5/3 is still larger than Key

  12. I see my brothers old apartment building! I was just in that area the middle of June and I don’t recall there being any work done on that site
  13. Cincinnati Art Museum Offers Sneak Peek at Progress of Beautiful 'Art Climb' Staircase Project https://www.citybeat.com/arts-culture/culture/blog/21129978/cincinnati-art-museum-offers-sneak-peek-at-progress-of-beautiful-art-climb-staircase-project?fbclid=IwAR0Pme0vCXrxU_cqCrEeQYNoOXQ1TvF2lHtnZtNWxvc3oDhj2d1bR2sQ4ac
  14. And Monroe Blocks face further delay. Both projects are WAY too big for the need/demand.
  15. Do they have other back office facilities in Greater Cincinnati? I know at one time they had credit cards in Mason, but they sold that line of business. I'd hate to see them abandon Cincinnati.
  16. But if you read the full article, it states that not a single senior-level executive works out of Cincinnati--which is different than the past. So it's really hard to state that Cincinnati their HQ; it's more of an administrative/operations center.
  17. Pressure to shrink: Will Macy's downsizing mean the loss of its Cincinnati headquarters? CINCINNATI — After seven quarters of growth, Macy’s Inc. is in downsizing mode again. Does that mean Cincinnati’s third-largest company might pull the plug on its downtown Cincinnati headquarters? https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/i-team/pressure-to-shrink-will-macys-downsizing-mean-the-loss-of-its-cincinnati-headquarters
  18. Considering what it replaced originally......I don't know. But as far as infill goes, it's fine.
  19. Not sure if this is the most appropriate place to share but .. Detroit had a subway plan around 1915. Unlike Cincinnati, no work was actually done. http://www.dailydetroit.com/2016/05/29/10-fantastic-facts-detroits-scrapped-subway-proposal/?fbclid=IwAR33toKLNC2FbkseGD1i_c3d0-ksq6sTDgJKx_qfS2wqqzppfruN0cVAnsk
  20. Gilbert's Monroe Blocks and ambitious Hudson's site developments are also way behind schedule.
  21. Looks like some of these projects are getting scaled back https://detroit.curbed.com/2020/1/13/21063921/the-mid-midtown-detroit-delay-construction
  22. I 8> McAlpins. Miss it so much.
  23. The units were WAY over-priced for what they were. The trend--in downtown construction--seems to have moved from owner-occupied to renter-occupied.
