I'm pretty sure that the Board of Education building was the library, but don't hold me to that.

Are you sure? It looks like they just have flowers sitting in the street for the festival. Notice the hay bales (or bails?) supporting them? The flowers must've been a temporary installation as that area in front of the buildings is a small parking lot. The buildings are set back from the street behind the lot. 3 quarters of the "square" are parking lots (with a chintzy gazebo) and the northwest quarter of the square doesn't exist... because that's where the courthouse is. The major north-south and east-west through routes go through the middle of this imaginary square. I assume this square was more park-like at one time... but now it's more parking-like. The flowers were (are, since they do it every year) for Woosterfest, the local Oktoberfest.

Are there any minor league sports fans on here? I follow the Canton Legends (AIFA) pretty closely, and I worked for the ill-fated Wayne County Rumble (CIFL) for about a month last year...they're going to play in Tallmadge this season.

Darn, I should have gotten a picture of it. But to answer your question, it's some 60's looking building. Really neat looking, but too small. I think it's supposed to house county records or something after the move is completed. EDIT: Here's a nice one from the Cleveland Public Library website: http://cpl.org/images/clevnet/wayneA.jpg

That's awesome! It's such a cool church...maybe I'll put together something with all the older churches sometime. Regarding the construction and the Friendtique building, I'll reserve judgment until the building is finished. Blue did have a lot of character, and I don't want to see Wooster become cookie-cutter... We do have a lot going on. Here's a few more pictures. The first is being renovated, and the second, is according to today's Daily Record, soon going to be renovated. The last one is sort of an act of civil disobedience, as the sign posted said "no photography" (it's our new public library).

Hi. I've lurked as a guest here for quite a while, and always told myself that I'd join and show off Wooster, Ohio as soon as I got a digital camera. Well, that day came, and so I'm pleased to show off Wooster to you. We'll start with the courthouse, and the square. This is the only picture the courthouse you'll see for now, the others didn't turn out very well. Besides, I'm sure it's already been covered pretty well The following are in other parts of downtown, or just off of the square, like this picture of the back of Everything Rubbermaid. The Post Office looks cold from this angle... ...but it's actually a fairly inviting place. I'm taking up a ton of space, so I'll conclude for now with this picture: Hope you enjoyed. :-)
