  1. How did Columbus gain 300,000 people in 4 years? Was there annexation or did they expand the Metro boundaries? I love the square mile stats. Cincy is pretty dense in comparison with some of the other Metros. Sacramento, KC, and Denver, all with similar Metro pops are much less dense.

One of the most disgusting places on earth. Every time I am there I just want to get out!
  3. I recognize a couple of those formerly located in plazas of downtown Cincinnati office buildings.
  4. I went yesterday - LOVED IT! We will be back.
  5. I agree a nice mix would be great. Too many expensive places makes it a special occasion place not an every day place. I maintain that the whole thing should be completed before opening to the public - and that should have been accomplished by Tall Stacks.
  6. I am starting to get very concerned about this whole thing. So they couldn't fininsh this before over a million visitors come downtown. What a showcase that could have been. Instead, they will see nothing but a half-assed mess. Are they supposed to be intrigued to come back? Is that the plan. They won't come back. You have only one opportunity to make a first impression. A bunch of signs saying "coming soon" doesn't do it. It doesn't take long to get a lease inked up - maybe 3 to 4 months from conception to execution. There must not be much interest in the surrounding store fronts. Why the hell couldn't 5/3 coordinate its building renovation with the Square completion? What is the problem people????!!!
  7. That is the whitest crowd I have ever seen. Hamilton! looks great though. Nice town that has come a long way in the last decade. Fewer Comaros now it seems thanks to the fact that the Cincy suburbs have pretty much engulfed the place. Mike Fox might be the weirdest shaped human being alive. They should put him in a freak show.

I love the new "Pure Michigan" ads Michigan is running. Great ads.
  9. "Rolling re-opening" is a BAD idea. Why? Because people will come down as soon as the fountain is turned on expecting something spectacular and half the attractions won't be ready and will be sporting "coming soon" signs. People will then get back in their cars, drive to Mason and bitch that there is nothing on the Square. You will hear nothing but negative bs that it was a waste of money to plant some trees, and there is more to do at xyz lifestyle center than on Fountain Square. I have lived in this town long enough to know what will happen. Major mistake not to finish this thing in mid-September and re-open it fully committed. Mark my words, they will still be leasing the place next Spring. I hope I am wrong. Rolling re-opening is stupid. It doesn't work and especially with people who have a hard enough time getting in their cars and coming down from xyz suburbs anyway. Booooooooooooo!!! Why does everything in this town take so long to complete?
  10. After my terrible experience with MED at Kinsey, I advised a client (I too am a lawyer) not to purchase one of the expensive downtown condos from MED. He did not listen and was miserable for a year until he could get out of it. MED gets sued so much it doesn't even phase them when they get a letter from a lawyer. They are probably barely hanging on financially. I have never seen a company operate so unprofessionally and poorly before. They totally abandoned Kinsey. We were lied to over and over again. We ended up exchanging some nasty letters in which I threatened to sue. I feel sorry for anyone who gets stuck with a MED property. Maybe the new contractor will help. Either they get in over their head and can't get out or they are criminal.
  11. I am intrigued. I would like to visit.
  12. I lived in Kinsey Flats for a while (MED Rehab). Crapiest construction I have ever seen. The building was falling apart, poor insulation between units (I could hear the alarm clock of the person in the next unit), lots of punch list items years after the building is complete. I think they are absolutley terrible and would never buy anything from them. I know a lot of people who have had problems with them as well.
  13. I didn't know DAY had that kind of money. I always thought of it as a work a day town with its richer big brother to the south.

I've been on I-75 between Cincy and Lexington when it has been 45 mph the whole way bumper to bumper. It is clogges with trucks even though it is 3 lanes each way most of the way. I-71/75 through NoKy is always crowded.
  15. Who is mostly responsible for these mansions?
  16. Their growth strategy is their business. They don't think like an American company. They are international and have a lot of markets to tend to. They will grow where they want to and where is best for their business. IKEA is a super-regional draw and frankly they are looking at a 100 to 150 mile radius which means they are looking at way more than 2 million people. They are probably considering about 4 to 6 million in a trade area.
  17. Cincy takes the cake on international travel in our region.

Does Cleveland have an undergound subway?
  19. I think it may very well be the nicest new building in Cincy area - maybe even the Tri-State.
  20. It looks like the same logo as the Southbank logo in Newport/Covington. 1990's and lame. What about the fountain. Let's be honest, that is the main attraction of the FOUNTAIN Square. The colors are dated, the font is boring, and it doesn't excite me in the least. Something classier would have been better and frankly, Fountain Square doesn't need a brand. It just is. The logo should be --"Fountain Square - You won't find it in the suburbs."

St. Louis looks like a really big city in these shots. I used to think it was a city like Cincy but I think it has a much bigger feel from those photos. More urban and gritty. I liked the tour. And go "St. Louis City."
  22. I have never seen anything like that place.
  23. You have really shown how nice Hamilton is. What a great city.
  24. Morton's has been a Tower Place for a long time. If that is what they are talking about, then they are just relocating a restaurant not bringing in new restaurants. Hopefully it is more exciting than the relocation of Morton's. Come on!
