Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
The new Jos. A Bank looks pretty good, I must admit.

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
I don't think Warren, Clermont and Butler Counties are sparsely populated.

More generic Cleveland pictures (55 or so)
Do you ever see people in Cleveland?

Nashville, TN: Signature Tower
We need something like that on Fountain Square. Cincy could support it if Nashville can.

Forest Park: Forest Fair Mall / Cincinnati Mills Redevelopment
The jail should be put in Warren County or Butler County. All criminals should be jettisoned from Cincy and be put in those counties. Let them deal with them instead of our fair city always being saddled with the problems.

Cincinnati: General Business & Economic News
Sara Lee sucks. It should be boycotted. What a horrible corporate citizen to Cincinnati.

Cincinnati: Downtown - 525 Vine Renovation
Seriously, CincyRise, does light gray match brown? That is what they have done there. It just doesn't work. I am glad for the new retail, however. That is great.

Beautiful U-of-M architecture
Yeah. I have never really loved that campus.

let's make a run for the border: nuevo laredo, mexico
It always amazes me how you can cross a boarder and enter another world. I love Mexican cities. So colorful.

At one time, the second most dense city, next to Manhattan...
It is a crime what urban renewal did to cities. That would have been the best neighborhood anywhere if it were still standing. All of those buildings flooded in 1937, and I have a feeling that was the beginning of the end for the West End. Urban renewal and the interstate highway system did it in. Whole blocks were probably demolished at once to make room for modern warehouses. A true tragedy.

Hamilton! - Gallery 3 - Dayton Lane Historic District
Hamilton is just blowing me away. It is a BIG little city. Love it.

Newport, KY: Newport on the Levee: Development and News
Moe's is actually much healthier than Chipotle. You can can get wheat rice there. I really like Moe's.

Hamilton, Ohio - Gallery 4 - Rossville Historic District
You have really opened my eyes to Hamilton. It isn't the redneck haven I once thought it was. I think Hamilton has great potential. With all of these great city neighborhoods and pretty much being in the suburbs now, I think the place could go through the roof. Also, I bet it is a great little city to live in.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Seven at Broadway
Good thing the city subsidized this with the garage. The problem in Cincy: not enough national developers who have institutional money. Local developers have a hard time getting money for development. It takes a long time and the local banks are extremely conservative about lending. Therefore, projects take forever to come to fruition.

THE University of Cincinnati
UC has come a long way! It now has an incredible campus. One of the best compact urban campuses anywhere. I am always amazed at how far that school has come. Go Nancy!
-
Toledo: Downtown: Imagination Station (former Portside / COSI)
I find it interesting that Cincy never got into COSI. We of course always had our own museums. I didn't know COSI was in Toledo and CMH.

Bellefontaine, Ohio
Is that some kind of trolley pole in that photo. The black box is horrible.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
I agree with Cincy-Rise. I like Cincy-Rise's new cynical outlook and logo.

Elyria, Ohio (city 27 of 27 in my tour)
I bet that swimming pool was fowl back then.

Covington Night Skyline, Bearcats Game + *BONUS*
Why have they been turning the lights off on the bridge. KY can't be that broke.

Hark! It's the gleaming skyline of faire PITTSBURGH!
Oakland sounds great!

Hark! It's the gleaming skyline of faire PITTSBURGH!
I like the brutalist black scraper downtown. Also, what is Oakland like? Is that where the universities are?

Continental Merge
Our O&D traffic is "piss poor" because leisure fares are so high. Cincinnatians have been traveling to Indy, Columbus, Louisville and Dayton for years to escape the high prices. Cleveland's O&D would be hurt too, except for the fact that people in Cleveland have nowhere else to go to get a flight except maybe Akron. Delta wants to be somewhere they can control all of the operations. They kept Southwest out of ATL and CVG. They won't make their hub in an airport with SW. Hopkins would have to dump SW. CVG is better airport than CLE because the runways are more efficient. I don't think you will see a DL hub in CLE any time soon.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
SSSCincy replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI am sad they are leaving that ugly 1980's glass above the restaurant.
