  1. I see a lot of discussion about new parking lots and PG moving people downtown. My mom has worked for PG for more than thirty years. She first worked downtown, then she was transferred to Mason, and now she is moving to... her home. Her team (and most of the similar funds teams) are being relocated downtown. However, they will be working from home and driving to the office downtown rarely for presentations etc. This all starts in January I believe. I think this is the next move for a lot of companies.
  2. Yeah, they really are. Although Harrison disgusts me (I work there about once a week), the west side has a lot of excellent neighborhoods (with PLENTY of money), and a lot of fun places to hang out. Don't knock it until you try it. I'm from Delhi, and its really charming (especially by Rapid Run Middle School).
  3. The best view is coming from the west side on US50 East!!! You get to see everything in its entirety!!!!! It is quite impressive.
  4. I was talking with my dad who oddly enough did some brick work in many of these buildings (but never told me before)... and he kept on talking about how badly these buildings are being constructed. He said that he would personally not feel comfortable living in them, as they are gutted and "rigged" together. That makes me feel nervous = (.
  5. Yeah, that is a good idea.
  6. The following is what Leslie Ghiz sent me today. She also sent me a document explaining how Cincinnati wishes to use the money Things included are: 1. central riverfront project 2. cincinnati streetcar network 3. riverfront street grid.... .. 4.. . .5 . If you want me to e-mail it you you, just e-mail me at [email protected] Keith, Thanks for your email. I, too, believe that the proposed stimulus provides cities like Cincinnati the opportunity to create and enhance our transportation infrastructure. As I understand it, Ohio is set to received over $8 billion in funding. I am attaching our federal agenda … I imagine our stimulus requests would be very similar. Thanks again for writing. Leslie
  7. There is a Chipoltle on Fountain Square.
  8. I didn't know that Dewey's was local. Huh!
  9. Wait, while I'm at it, lets get the conversation back to the aqua ball. KTHX

  12. A lot of Cincinnati reppin' happened today if you watched American Idol. They went to Louisville and a LOT of the people, including the last person on the show, were from da Nati
  13. When I saw that Qdoba I almost died. You know your lacking in the Mexican food department when Qdoba wins. But, delicious non-Mexican (whatsoever) tortillas stuffed with artery clogging goodness is delicious. Fact.
  14. Close the rest of em!!! I want a delux skyline down there ASAP!!! YEAAAHH BOY!!
  15. I did, the exact same thing. I think Harris replied to me also.

This is ridiculous. If you want a park buy up some land and donate it to the park district. Get some volunteers to keep it up and call it a day. Charging 45 dollars, what a crock.
  17. This is quite sad. I'm going to freeze myself until the time when suburbs are the worst places ever to live, and when we start to care about eachother/ the environment.
  18. It isn't going to start just yet. But there is a huge diagram and powerpoint about it. http://www.cincystreetcar.com/
  19. I think the closest Skyline is by the library, if I am thinking correctly. And its super small/ the bums sit outside of it sometimes. ahah
  20. Thank you for your message. One of the requirements for funding in the stimulus package is that the project be ready to go within 60-90 days. A portion of the streetcar project does fit that description and is on the list that the City submitted. The City’s federal lobbyist will be working hard on this. Ron Wahl Assistant to Councilmember Roxanne Qualls From: Keith Lanser [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, January 16, 2009 4:53 PM To: Crowley, David; Cole, Laketa; Berding, Jeff; Bortz, Chris; Harris, Greg; Ghiz, Leslie; Monzel, Chris; Qualls, Roxanne; Thomas, Cecil Subject: Infrastructre spending Hello, my name is Keith Lanser and I currently live in Delhi Township. As you may know, a great deal of the next stimulus package, estimated to be more than 800 billion dollars, will be spent on infrastructure. I ask you to do everything you can, and lobby for money to create a modern street car system in the urban core. I ask you to consider taking other forms of transit including light rail seriously. These investments will not only make it easier to commute, but it will certainly spur billions of dollars of investment. Our region depends on you. That is why I also ask of you all to help lobby for the Ohio Hub. This excellent rail system would connect me and our entire region with the other major regions in our wonderful State within minutes. It is time for effective leadership. Please help us compete with the rest of the world.
  21. Where has Skyline been in this mess!?!?!? We need a chili joint there for SURE!!!
  22. I hope this ends up looking really "serious". I like the simplicity of the design. I like that it isn't flashy. We aren't flashy people. I think the story of Cincinnatus has prevailed here. Also, I was delighted to know that it isn't going to be super-tall. We need to respect our heritage as much as possible, and I think this building does that. It may not be an architectural masterpiece, but it is very Cincinnati. I am, however, worried about construction methods. Have they done anything at all to limit waste or to make the building slightly sustainable?
  23. I didn't know that Museum Plaza has been suspended. That is VERY interesting. If anything this shows how dedicated and financially sound The Banks project really is.
  24. Thank god. I've been saying we need light rail for years, and perhaps our fiscally conservative voters here in Cincinnati will choose to use Obama and the current economic situation to get not only regional light rail but this state-wide hub!
