Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
As an outsider reading about all of NEO news online...it seemed like a busy weekend in NEO...you had PGA Golf, Pro Football HOF activities, Twins Days, Browns Family Day and this Warehouse District Festival...and I am sure I am missing some other stuff, too! I wonder if the hotels wouldn't be inclined to have some of those big ticket items (mentioned previously) happen on different weekends. I'm sure a lot of people that would travel 4-6 hours to go to the HOF or the PGA might get turned off if hotel space is booked, and decide not to make the trip at all. Just a thought.

Sears / Kmart News
There's no way a brand that's on life support (Sears/KMart) is building anything new, nor are they moving to a downtown. Do Cincy's burbs stack up to DC's? That is the question.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
It's 40 all year in some stretches... But anyone that actually drives 40 mph on LSD is probably on said substance. I drive twice a week on it from its start at Hollywood to I-55 and get passed - going 60 - regularly. To be fair, the cpd is constantly out ticketing.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Good one. The justice center is still a piece of crap, tho...no joke there.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Good point. The justice center looks particularly offensive in this picture. What a piece of crap. In the meantime, that new hotel is SWEET! Straight from the streets of NYC or CHI. Please make it happen CLE!

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Was able to see Kill the Irishman last night here in Chicago... I liked it, as it reminded me of the 70s mob heyday in NEO...Pretty well acted and written, like most of the criticisms of the film I agree that many of the characters were not given much of a chance to develop...run time was only about 1:30, so that did not help...and the budget constraints did not help with set variety. Needless to say, with the proper budget and advertising, this could have been a good attraction nationwide. Detroit did a nice job standing in as 70s CLE (not sure if that is a compliment), but it would have been great to identify with local landmarks. Overall, nice work and well worth the price of admission...which is $9.50 now here in CHI!

Cleveland: Can MGK help change the perception for young people?
I like MGK's Cleveland video and song...so much that I bought the track on iTunes...pretty creative and definitely full of Cleveland pride! Nothing wrong with that combo!

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Awesome episode, except for the Skyline part...they must have felt sorry for Cincinnati. Anyway, I bought the episode on iTunes and regularly watch it...good to see Harvey Pekar as well.

NHL vs. NBA ... Fight!
I actually hope one day that the NHL is in CLE. Just a random thought...but CLE is far better for hockey than most any city below the Mason-Dixon.

Cleveland: Downtown Aquarium
Here's the website for Proposal 3...now to be called Rock Harbor Aquarium. http://www.northcoastaquarium.com Not quite as far along...they do have a good summary of local and national government contacts, though. Check out the "Who to Contact" tab. The group also has an active Facebook page entitled the Great Lakes Aquarium of Cleveland. IMO I think that they definitely need to join forces with the ClevelandAquarium.org folks and make one pretty special venue.

Cleveland: Downtown Aquarium
Just happened to go to ClevelandAquarium.org tonite for the first time in a while. NICE WORK! I have to say that I want this particular aquarium proposal to work...with or without Jacobs or the latest (third) plan. Seems like they have the right board of trustees and expertise to do it right... GIVE IT A LOOK! http://www.clevelandaquarium.org

Cleveland: Downtown Aquarium
In a perfect world, I'd like to see both aquariums succeed, of course...and I agree with MTS, I think all of these new attractions should not necessarily be built on top of each other....One other thing...does the Powerhouse Aquarium need the Casino issue to pass in order for it to get built? In order for it to succeed? Is there an expected synergy on the developers' part between these two Flats projects? Just wondering.

Cleveland: Downtown Aquarium
This is good news....I think. I wonder what role, if any, the people at clevelandaquarium.org will have in this. I hope Jacobs will work together with them to make it a world-class facility.

Is it a given that St. Peter's Hall is going to be demolished? Or has it already met the wrecking ball?

Cleveland: Renovation of Parkview Apartments
Nothing against the folks that live there...I drove by the building last summer. All I know is that it is not what it could be...a building that could spark a renaissance in a potentially dynamic neighborhood. It looks shoddy. The rehab (not restoration) looks half-assed. Its curb-level appeal is next to nothing. It is a great building with a great history that should house some upscale condos or apartments, or god forbid, a hotel. There are plenty of other quality places to put Section 8 housing in NE Ohio.

Cleveland: Renovation of Parkview Apartments
Every time I think Cleveland (where I grew up) and Chicago (where I live now) are somewhat similar...something like this sadly brings me back to reality. While the Allerton Hotel Chicago is a now a very nice hotel on Michigan Avenue and a vibrant component of that great street, the Allerton Hotel Cleveland (Parkview) is lucky to serve as an urban trailer park. This building deserves so much more.
