Columbus Blue Jackets Discussion
Rumors starting to finally make it to mainstream news...saw a blurb from Shawn Mitchell of the Dispatch saying CBJ leaning toward moving their AHL affiliate from Springfield MA to Cleveland...as AHL is being realigned. Current Lake Erie Monsters parent club Colorado is looking to have their AHL team closer to the Denver metro. This should've been done years ago...helps both CBJ and LEM...although one could argue the Indians attendance hasn't benefitted much since Tribe's AAA team moved from BUF to CBus (Clippers).

Chicago: Developments and News
Agreed. On a side note, the Arhaus Furniture (CLE based company) store a few blocks away on Clybourn is one of the nicest retail spaces I've ever seen.

Chicago: Developments and News
Wow. Pretty lame place in a cool part of town.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
Cleveland must lead the nation in mid-size music venues per capita. Include Akron in the mix and the amount of places to see an event is staggering.

Wandering West Part VII: San Francisco, CA
Great pics. Was just there for work last February...the coolest city in the US IMO. (Besides CLE of course )

Lakewood: Development and News
ChiCleveKid replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionGod forbid a reporter actually includes a numeric street address in their article so those of us from out of town can punch it into Apple/Google Maps. (Sorry to vent...it's a pet peeve.) Maybe I'm missing something...does Detroit Ave intersect Clifton?

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
Agreed. Underrated event for the city that is a constant...especially in early spring when tourism isn't exactly at its peak. I don't doubt that other cities - including Detroit - were trying to get this event from CLE.

That's why I ended up at Marshall's :)

Cleveland: Retail News
Is it a bad sign about all of these closings? I don't know much about bebe but Lucky shouldn't be going out of biz I would think...decent jeans at a pretty good price. However, I bought a pair at their store - in the mall close to me in Chicago - for $85 (on sale) only to return them when I found the exact same pair at Marshall's for $39.99. Their stuff is easily found on the discount market.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
Sorry but if I still lived in CLE I wouldn't go near a Giant Eagle... I hope this story has a happy ending. We shall see.

Though no fault of his own, the Horton deal makes Nick Swisher seem like a good pickup in comparison.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
As a marketing professional...(albeit in pharmaceuticals) I LOVE the name NuCLEus. I think it's a genius play on words and hits home. BRAVO BOB STARK! MAY THE GHOSTS OF 'PESHT' (horrible name) BE GONE!

I think Mr. Alberts used to be a funky bookstore named Kay's Books...as a kid who loved Mad Magazine that place was amazing. Sad to see that building go...but in the name of progress it's a good thing.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
Agreed. Talk about oversaturated! Just wait if the casino ever adds one downtown. That will mess up the market for sure. Funny you mentioned casino because I didn't even think of the HRC Casino in Northfield when I wrote my comment. To be fair, however, it seems like more and more events in CLE are smaller scale and not arena/stadium sized shows...so there should be plenty of events to go around.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Very cool...I've been interested in the Guernsey ever since I first saw it in 2001...I know it was listed for sale in 2010 and sold for under $100K (I think.) The current renovations are going to cost at least 5x that...which is great for that block.

Not a fan. Hope the Crew rebranding is better than this.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
There was a Cignal, Indians Team Shop and a pretty cool Koenig's Sports. And a two story Victoria's Secret...or was that Tower City?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I know the 515 Euc building is showing up on these massings for Stark - but it also was on the Ferrari Tower plan too. Did I miss some news?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Please happen with that height... And can we still have the Ferrari Tower? Fingers more than crossed...!

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Apple maps is your problem! HA! I don't like how there's no street view on Apple Maps...but the fact that CLE is only city in Ohio to have the 'flyover' mode is pretty cool...

Thanks for the info...not quite the old Roman or Turkish Bath building I envisioned! Go ahead and level it... :)
