    Nice work!!!
  2. Amen. Totally disappointing.
  3. Cool pic! Yikes the lack of traffic on the bridge sure is depressing tho!
  4. Aren't you in Chicago? Visit downtown much? ;-) It will be interesting to see if the Schofield, Truman and Security Federal buildings all get rehabbed at the same time or not. Yeah, downtown Chicago and surrounding neighborhoods have a ton going on....but I'm thinking more about the variety of projects...casino, MOCA, convention center, aquarium, hotels...I doubt any other city in the USA has ALL of this going on at once!!
  5. It's going to be AWESOME! There's NO other city in the state - or the midwest, for that matter - with so much new stuff going on! Unbelievable!
  6. Interesting! Where in the D is this?
  7. Good point. Although Chicago's Shedd Aquarium's original building was (is) amazingly gorgeous and ornate, it was (is) extremely small. Can't wait to see how this Powerhouse venue develops over time!!
  8. It's cool! Google Maps street view has not caught up yet, tho! Still the Triangle Building for MOCA and parking lots for Uptown.
  9. I was always partial to the Arhaus Furniture building down there as well. I know for a while it was the flagship store for Arhaus (we bought a dining room table there in 1997) and then it was a clearance center as late as 2003. What is in there now? I personally think it would make some great residential space and/or some great creative space...or even some sort of retail again.
  10. Nice shots...thanks a bunch. Wasn't able to drive by when I was in town for Christmas!
  11. If any of you folks lucky enough to be in downtown CLE regularly can take some pix of this project that would be appreciated!
  12. This is actually some pretty good publicity! Nice work by the PR department. I drove by when in town over the holidays and it looked pretty cool...Lord knows there will be plenty of parking!
  13. Not ideal in location or style of architecture, but it's better than Eaton building the same thing in Chicago, Atlanta or Charlotte!
  14. That is a cool space! Thanks for the information. I'm in town next week for a few nights and planned on driving down to the Flats to check out the aquarium site and FEB...I'll try and check this one out as well.
  15. Sorry to sound like an ignoramus but which one is the Left Bank building? What address can I type into Google Maps? Thanks!!!
  16. On that note, bringing it back to CLE, I also loved the END...circa 1992-1993!!!!
  17. Chicago still has 93.1 XRT, which is modern/indie with some alternative rock "classics" thrown in. Q101 was a crap station that played lame modern rock stuff like Lincoln Park. Chicago also has a great classic rock station (97.1), so to me the radio in Chicago is just fine. It's not as good as when I lived in Southern California though, but certainly way better than Cleveland. WXRT's music really is decent...the on-air talent is unlistenable. For being the number THREE media market in the US, the radio scene in the Windy City is pretty bad.
  18. Chicago lost their alternative a while ago...Q101...for a big market, radio here sucks.
  19. I think we'll see a good mix of stores settle into the mall, certainly no two-story Barneys or Calvin Klein or Fendi or Gucci from the days of yore, but even brands like J. Crew, Banana, A/X, Cole Haan, Talbots, etc. would be a big upgrade compared to the present mix of offerings.
  20. Looks like they employ a company called the FORM Group to run the site. I kind of like the art direction, but if it's factually incorrect then shame on them.

The latest from here (Chicago) Looks like Sears will stay, but Ohio gave it a good shot... http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-ap-oh-searsheadquarters,0,2118318.story
  22. We paid a renewal special of about $130, plus my employer is one of the major underwriters of the Shedd...I think there was a discount for employees available as well...which was a few dollars more than our discounted rate as a returning member. Either way, it's a great deal for that facility, plus it IS tax deductible. MTS, you are right...when the Shedd was first built it was really beautiful, but really small. You can see that when you visit the main lobby and a few of the wings that are located just off the lobby.
  23. We're members of the Shedd Aquarium (Chicago) and paid about $130 for a family membership...one thing to consider is that part of this $130 is tax deductible...not sure if that would still be the case here since the GCA is going to be 'for-profit.'
  24. Funny I was just listening to that NIN song the other day...Trent Reznor must be excited! Movie looks cool.
  25. Thank you. We all know the answer to this one.
