Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
oh. god! who the hell is going to want to live down here now? I would never want to live where a bunch of overweight hilljacks from the 'burbs congregate on a weekly basis. I live in the city to avoid exactly that. ugh and a half. please say this is some sort of april fools in november thing.

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
atlas replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Constructionvery good to see. Northstar cafe, the space on the northern most section of the existing building, is AMAZING. I go there every time I am in town.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
AJ, glad I was able to give Tim the dramatic contrast of Indy to Cincy to persuade him on how great the Nati is. Nothing like seeing Indy before Cincy to realize how great Cincy really is. :-)

Why would that be ideal? Separating the modes seems like a bad idea IMO, especially when thinking about creating a vital urban environment.

Over the past few years, I have started taking 'cartwheeling' pictures wherever I travel. Here is a sample of some of those. Paris Greece Libya New Orleans Chicago

Fort Wayne, Indiana
'the region' (NW Indiana/suburban/exurban Chi/Gary) as its called here in Indiana is officially the 2nd largest population center in Indiana. I do believe anyway. Sure, it is considered suburban Chicago I suppose, but I believe there's over 700,000 people in 'the region'.
-
Pemberville, Ohio
NW Ohio and much of Indiana seem to go hand in hand. Geographically makes sense of course. But this area is distinct from the rest of Ohio IMO.

New Ohio metro populations.
and just to add to this and explain why CIncy has so many counties in its MSA... its b/c all of those KY counties are geographically small in size, which allows counties like Pendleton County to be included since its still relatively close even though its largely rural. And I mean...Pendleton County only has 15,000 people or so and its 281 sq. miles. So this definitely drags down Cincy's density.

Cincinnati Summer 2010
thanks for these. cincinnati's so photogenic!

Galena, Illinois
well, comparing otr to galena isn't really a fair or worthy one, considering OTR is significantly larger than galena's historic district...not to mention the social issues the neighborhood has had to deal with.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
There is also the possibility that the Streetcar, the 85, the New 1 and the New 46 will have a lower "circulator" fare that would be different from the Zone 1 fare. .......sounds....a bit confusing. certainly to the average user. I mean, I KNOW people I went to school with found the 17/18/19 times confusing so having different fares for different routes would also be...confusing?!?

Isn't it high time we liberalize our liquor laws?
When I was in Cincinnati one time, in the suburb of Springdale, I was refused the purchase of alcohol on a Sunday afternoon....3ish. The check-out guy said it was a local law. Very annoying.
