  1. yea that site plan that was under their projects tab is awful. A lot of surface parking lots. Not what Northside needs. at all.

wow. that town looks like its plucked out of somewhere more east of there. looking good.
  3. oh yes, quite the chode.
  4. yes good news. i wonder what the other non-restaurant/bar ones are.....I'm guessing a North Face and a Diesel store. ;)
  5. true. but with the other examples you give its a matter of taste. over time tastes change. this is just a bad design imo. no matter the time period, it will always be a bad, poorly proportioned design. unless of course humans change their idea of proper proportion. i guess if we keep getting shorter and fatter then this is possible.
  6. Then phoney up 350 million then. what?
  7. so. bad. Cincinnati as a city cannot let this kind of crap happen again. Looking back, I wish we would have protested the design and demanded something better. the city deserves so much better. thanks for the photos though.

  10. balderdash. he's clearly never bottomed.
  11. its a little under 3 years. spring 2013. 2 years sounds nice though. :)
  12. it just seems long. maybe the downtown/otr loop will be open before that?
  13. another example of over regulation. accessibility is important. yes. but so is creating a lively urban atmosphere. my father commented on how he wanted to go to Senate because of the outdoor seating he saw as he drove by. He said it reminded him of Boston where he just was. My father lives in Harrison, Ohio and is more or less a country boy at heart. And it caught his eye.
  14. so does anyone have a timetable that will explain the Spring 2013 timeframe?
  15. terrible name for a terrible building.
  16. hehe. the sherman, randy feud continues. and i sit back and watch.

I am well aware that sprawl is not a response to market forces and has been government subsidized since day one. I know of some of the reasons such as zoning laws, the federal highway system, and loans which made buying homes easier, but could someone spell out all the ways, or the main ways in which government has subsidized sprawl from the onset? I went through thees pages but cannot find a solid breakdown.

I'd recommend Columbus. The Short North/Vic Village/Italian Village is about as gay friendly as youre going to get in Ohio. German Village too. Don't overlook Northside or DT in Cincy. A very burgeoning gay populaiton and scene there.

you can park in otr for free. i used to park on clay btwn 13th and 14th. should be fine there. Also, I'd definitely walk between the two areas. They're very connected, no real reason not to walk IMO.
  23. definitely. from the side it looks slender and properly proportioned. from the front its a hot mess.

gay bar on a Tuesday night.....you might try Below Zero at 12th and Walnut or Hamburger Mary's close to 9th and Vine. Not sure what The Dock or Adonis is like on a Tuesday but these are the two big gay club clubs in Cincinnati.
  25. thanks for these. Within Indiana, bloomington is heralded as this amazing urban oasis. The interesting thing is their bus ridership numbers is expected to eclispe Indy's soon. That would be a huge embarassment for Indianapolis.
