Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
oh i like the blue. and i dont think the density is an issue. it will be dt c-bus's little village. i dont think the area can support tons of high density stuff. these are a huge improvement to what was there. go cbus.

so how are they going to enforce paying? Are they going to have random checks for tickets? If you get caught w/out a ticket, whats the penalty?

What if Ohio cities worked together?
well, all campus is certainly urban, but it is weird to drive east on lane and see a farm on your left and downtown on your right.

What if Ohio cities worked together?
This isnt entirely true. I remember seeing many stories on the news about how a new development was going in in some random township and after that, Columbus annexed. So C-Bus annexed after they knew it was being developed, it didnt just get developed because it was in C-Bus. And I dont know what the Columbus way is, but if its anything like the area my friend lives in, then C-Bus's way is VERY suburban. No, what has been said is that Columbus's urban areas are losing population but because they have annexed suburban areas, the city continues to grow. That doesnt mean the metro would be shrinking at all. These people moving into these suburban areas in the city arent the only people moving around. The suburbs are also growing. But the urban area of C-Bus is getting smaller.

Columbus: Drake Center is Ugly
Except for pizza (but even then people would rather have it delivered). The towers are hideous but people who live in other parts of campus glamorize them (or so I've seen with my fellow freshmen). Not mention the layout is confusing and Jeffrey Dahmer supposedly lived in one of them. I never heard anyone glamorize the towers at osu in my 4 years. Everyone I talked to did not want to live there because of its isolation from campus and high street.

Columbus: Drake Center is Ugly
i went to the drake a lot when i lived in the dorms because they have a restaurant called the viewpointe or something like that. anyway, students culinary students worked there and made really good meals and you could use meal swipes. It was a killer deal. I certainly wouldnt say that. OSU has some beautiful buildings and wonderful green spaces. And who can forget Mirror Lake! The Oval is something other universities should copy. It is a civic area in which students flock and hang out and interact, etc. Its really cool in the spring and summer when you go out there and it is full of people. Really makes you feel apart of the university community. I miss it.

What if Ohio cities worked together?
I've been confused ever since I arrived in Columbus for school: Which parts are actually the inner city? I've searched for neighborhood maps but all I can find is the one of the areas in downtown and immediately surrounding downtown like Short North. Is it that Columbus completely annexed suburbs and now they have Columbus' school system, mayor, etc.? Or do separate suburbs like Dublin, Bexley, and Whitehall share city services and therefore the city has decided to add these suburbanites to the city's overall population? I dont know, I am sure you can find a map of the city school district somewhere. But I do know that a lot of land Columbus has annexed still serves suburban school districts. I have a friend who technically lives inside the city of Columbus but went to Dublin Scioto. Because the area was apart of the Dublin schools before it was annexed, it stayed that way. This is the case in a lot of the newly annexed areas of Columbus.

What if Ohio cities worked together?
i love how the article says "except columbus" a couple of times when referring to inner city troubles. Thats pretty dangerous though, as the only reason Columbus's population hasnt shrunk is because of annexation. The annexation and thus population growth has masked their inner city exodus just like the other ohio cities. And even the Dispatch has fallen for this and basically claims in this article that everything is a-ok in C-Bus inner city.

Cincinnati: University of Cincinnati News & Info
ooohhh, i figured you did that on purpose, insinuating the low scores of UC. But anyway, ink, seriously, your comment pointed out by edale is ridiculous at best. we all know uc is a fine school and crime really isnt much of an issue. and please, UC"s architecture is wonderful, and so is Miami's, in a different way. But regardless, OSU kicks Miami's ass in just about everything, so suck on it. ANd it isnt long before UC is kicking MIami's ass as well. Miami can only be so great in a city like Oxford :)

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I went over the The Gateway Condo information office on my 'lunch break' and talked to the sales guy. He said Robert's restaurant will be open in January, he also said that 46 of the 93 condos are now under contract, and he said they WILL be coming out with 100 or so condos every year for the next 3 years. He said a lot of the buyers have been Boston transplants via the whole P&G Gillette buyout thing. He also said since they have been in the news for the past 5 days or whatever, they have had a lot of interest recently. I went and saw a unit for $85k in the Bremen Lofts. It was alright, certainly the right price for $85k. I like what they are doing, really fantastic. (If this is the wrong thread for this, please move it).

Downtown Cincinnati: Time for the holidays!
hhhmmmm, interesting They have been moved, along with Santa, to a spot inside the actual mall area. I was also confused and thought they were gone at first. Did You go to Javiers again Randy? Or did you ditch me that day for these young ladies. Or, did BallHatGuy mistake me for young ladies? Whichever way, I am not happy. I'm guessing he was mistaking you for young ladies, because that is the only time I've been to Javier's. You do have a feminine look of sorts.  why I oughta.......(me shaking my fist) :-P
