Sure, saying "everyone should take responsibility for their actions" is nice and all, but it is not, nor ever will be, realisitc. Just like some religious conservatives trying to combat teen pregnancy with abstinence only education.....you have to accept the fact that humans are not perfect and these perfect ideals will not work. Sure you try to teach them but you must accept that they will never totally take hold.
  2. btw, i think these look good up close. but far away, imo, not so much.
  3. yea, he did. that damn rich sob. oh well, thanks for the good development nationwide.

yea, socially I am an equal rights guy....but I dont think thats a liberal or conservative thing...its more of 'think outside what you were taught' people vs. close-minded people. i tend to be an free market guy who supports the war and who suports gay marriage.
  5. so can I get some advice on Teak's in Mt. Adams. What kind of atmosphere is it? Good food? I love Thai food and have not been here so I want to go Friday night. Good date restaurant? Reviews, comments welcome, thanks!
  6. looks like 4 of them are already sold.
  7. oh snap.... its funny because I love how seicer says "other cities". It seemed apparent to me atleast that every project he listed is currently going on in l'ville.

ok so i dont know how i feel about this, but just as long as this gets incorporated into a res. tower, then im cool with it.

I just moved to the gaslight here in cincy and I LOVE it so far. I walk to everything I need....grocery, bank, cvs, bars, skyline, deweys, graeters, servatti(pastries, etc), coffee shop, movie theatre, thai food, indian food, mexican, italian, mediterranean, etc. I pay $400/month and that includes utilities and it is a little less than a 15 minute walk to campus(up a hill though) Plus burnet woods is beautiful. Definitely the place to be for me (grad student). Love it and would love to have new neighbors :-)
  10. yea i mean if greek wasnt doing it, someone else would.
  11. way to go...rando! but osu's campus is definitely best on the south side. However, they have made strides on the north side. The new physics research building, fisher, and that new smith lab have all helped north campus. North is def. more 'urban' in terms of buildings v. green space but its def. not hideous by any measure. ugh, i lived in the north campus dorms frosh year and have this whole reconfiguration drawn up for the area. It could be so much more...:)
  12. agreed, after frosh year, time to get a house and privacy along with it. but i def. look back at my frosh days and get all nostalgic.
  13. yea but theres IMO, the dorm experience should be had by all. its a damn inconvenient, annoying, loud, obnoxious hell of a great time.
  14. its really interesting to see dt columbus when some sort of event is going on at the convention center. I agree, with the cap now, ppl head towards the short north, etc. But when I work on weekends at Nationwide downtown, its weird to see a flurry of activity and bodies as far as the eye can see up high street starting on the northside of Nationwide Blvd. I look south and see a virtual no mans land.
  15. Yea, but I meant towers. OSU has over 30 res. halls and that doesn't even include the new Fisher Commons built for MBA students. Its too bad they cant build new halls, b/c they certainly need them!
  16. well im officially a bearcat now and walked around campus extensively for the first time in a long time. the first thing that struck me is that UC needs more on campus residential halls. Is this true? If so, what are they doing to combat this issue? UC has what, 4 campus res. towers? Compared to OSU, who has 11, and 2 of them are over 20 stories(granted Lincoln doesn't utilize all floors for res.)
  17. in addition to the otr site, they may also open a nky site.
  18. they put the wood fence back up after tearing half of it down. :wtf:
  19. agreed, but tell that to Northern Kentuckians...ites...eeerrr...

these new logos are cool, but i thought the point of urban ohio was to also showcase smaller ohio towns? this logo completely ignores them.
  21. yea, you'd be amazed. I know plenty of people that go to applebees for happy hour and just hang out there for their social evening. the applebees close to osu gets a TON of students. On a side note, Rusty Bucket's fried pickle things are AWESOME. I love them esp. at this restaurant.
  22. this development is certainly separated from the more gentrified south end of short north. This area needs something like this so this is good. They tore down the sign and had equipment on the site last week but now nothing is there anymore.

so much beauty and so much more potential.
  24. well the rendering leaves little to be desired IMO. The price points seem right though.
  25. yea i think this can be moved to completed projects.
