  1. omg i loathe mexican food. the fact that they would put one downtown disgusts me..... (jk, i LOVE mexican food.... but I feel this is what people who are against cadillac ranch sound like and its a bit ridiculous)
  2. ^yea, but crosby twshp is reveling in the development just down the road from fernald. I forget the name but its in new baltimore and its a rather large development thats expected to something like double the twshp's population.

unique town hall, architecturally speaking. very neat!
  4. and also, I could be wrong, but OSU is continually becoming a better school. Look at the stats. Each ncoming class is academically stronger than the next and considering we are the highest ranked public in the state, this institution is becoming very strong academically. So if you think about that, generally speaking, the 'type' of student coming is changing and probably a bit more affluent(for reasons that go beyond this discussion). So doesnt this whole development kind of cater to a growing population at OSU?
  5. Pesto isnt a chain either :-)
  6. wow, that height would devastate our skyline. look how ridiculous that looks!
  7. i think most people woul dwant a building LIKE that in Cincinnati. Thats not the argument hes making. Hes just saying if you go and ask random people on the street about nashville, they are not going to be speaking its praise b/c of this building, but rather they will tell you its the country music capital of the usa.

do this now! this would really be a great addition to the landscape of eastern downtown. if this comes on line as well as one river place and whats already over there, that area will create a nice corridor of midrise residential.
  9. this area is really exploding. are there any affordable apartments in the Q? I am in the market for an apt. and I would love to live here!
  10. downtown needs taller buildings in the western part of downtown, around the enquirer building. that would be nice some time down the future.
  11. i agree with that too, i just dont think it needs to be 950 ft. tall!
  12. Why does a skyscraper have to do this? Skyscrapers go up all the time in this country. Look at Portland....do you hear about how great their city is because of their magnificent new skyscrapers....no! You hear about it because of the wonderful urban landscape they are creating! I dont think along the line of big buildings = progressive city. San Diego doesnt have big skyscrapers and yet, if you ask most people, they will say San Deigo is a fun, vibrant place. So lets keep our beautiful skyline and work on building up the street level infrastructure.
  13. thanks for the pics Rando. I really dont know what to think about the north side facade. It reminds me of the 80's or something and I think it looks cheap too. I dunno, I guess we will see.
  14. I dont think it should be ohios tallest. I think in the upper 600's is fine. We dont want a single tower that dwarfs the rest of the skyline because if we do that, there goes our picturesque skyline. Thats kind of what happened with cleveland, where their big 3 makes the other buildings look small and insignificant. If this building was upper 600's, it would compiment the rest of the skyline and keep our beautiful skyline intact.
  15. how is the facade facing the square coming along? How about ia Vite? Hate to be a pain, but does anyone have updated pictures? I havent been in Cincy for 4 months now and havent seen a lot of things and it seems like there hasnt been any picture updates for a month or so, so any update would be nice.
  16. Some of these pics look to have been taken in the winter, hence the no leaves trees. But this isnt really a problem. This place actually has good pedestrian traffic and at night, the corridor between McFaddens and Mad Mex is packed with people. It really is a oool little atmosphere I think!
  17. yea, I live a couple blocks away as well. These pics are a bit outdated, as some more places are opening up including Aveda and a tan place. But yea, I hang out here mostly, very fun bars! However, I agree, they cater to a specific type of college student and they dont really have any clothing options that would fit me, a 22 yr old male.
  18. Absolutely agreed. I dont like country music either but I certainly dont bash it! Can someone please explain to me why they are criticizing this place?
  19. i think this place is gonna draw a lot of girls there. Up here at osu, there is a country bar close to campus and it seems to me that every girl I know loves that place even though they are not necessarily into country.
  20. ^well if they say its going to be built NOW, then investment should start NOW. So were good!

    :-(
  24. up here at osu, there is lennox, which is a huge theatre similar to newports. we also have drexel gateway which is a smaller theatre that shows smaller budget films as well as big bidget films and does very well. Also, there is Arena Grande in the Arena District which does well also so if it can be done here, it can be done in Cincy as well, although in Cincy the university is closer to dt than osu is here. but still......it seems to me uc def. needs a theatre withn walking distance.
