  1. Wow. Get a sense of humor. Knocking OSU (as is my responsibility as a UM alumnus) does not equate with trashing my birthplace. Thanks for stepping up as Stereotypical Overly Sensitive Midwesterner, though! Dude, I am a 21 year old guy. I have a hard enough time being sensitive (ask my x-girlfriends) let alone overly sensitive. you have made 10+ comments dissin us. one, fine...haha, two...haha. But after while I had to react. its not called being overly sensitive its called putting you in place.
  2. Danin, seriously, shut up. How can you come into a forum called UrbanOhio and trash osu fans over and over and over. it would be like me coming in here and declaring my ultimate love for suburbia and going on to say how much cities suck. And btw, that was the point to my post before to which you responded with something to the effect of "Read as: with us or against us." That is obviously not what I said. Didn't they teach you reading comprehension skills?
  3. i took the poll too. just bumpin this to make sure everyone doesnt forget to vote. vote at work, at home, go to some library and vote. vote, vote, vote.
  4. awhile back, wasnt there plans to have a Van Maur downtown along with a Nordstroms, etc.
  5. Cincy-Rise, I am sure youre joking but the optimist in me has to make sure.
  6. uuuhhhhh, thats obvious. if they tear that down so many people would be so very livid.
  7. ^why did you people think it was gonna be a van maur? did i miss something?
  8. danin, i must say, for you to look down on osu fans is basically the same thing as looking down on the entire state of ohio. in reality, the two are almost inseperable. yes, there are people in ohio who arent osu fans but there are A LOT, and I mean A LOT of osu fans in this state. so why are you in this forum if you have such disdain for this state?
  9. ^couldnt it/doesnt it have more to do with the fact that there are so damn many osu fans and less to do with osu people being more obnoxious. I mean its quite obvious that the larger the number of people, the more the mob mentality is likely to take over.
  10. well, IF he was talkin shit on osu, then he needed his facts straight, cuz afterall, isnt this what these kinds of forums are all about?
  11. Actually, you don't... OSU and PSU basically trade off every year (home team almost always wins)... we've lost to Michigan like 7 times in a row (many of them aided by blatently biased officiated... such as the phantom extra second at the end of the game last year that ruined PSU's perfect season). We hate Michigan too... but we really hate OSU due to proximity (and perhaps the Big 33 Game) and the fact that their program is pretty much the anti-PSU when it comes to graduation rates and ethics (like the whole Maurice Clarett scandal). And now that I live in Ohio... I hate OSU all the more! Interestly, when I was at BW3's in Wooster watching the PSU-Michigan game last year... OSU partisans erupted with cheers when Michigan won... which shocked me... I guess OSU fans were still bitter about the bruising defeat PSU handed them the week before. I dont quite udnerstand what youre saying about OSU's graduation rate? Are you saying it is much lower than Penn States or something? OSU's grad rate: 71% (2006) PSU's grad rate: 81% (2004, couldnt find a more recent one) US NEWS & WORLD REPORT RANKINGS (doesn't have to do with grad rates only) OSU's rank: 57th overall PSU's rank: 47th overall So, uuhhh, while psu is a better school, it certainly doesnt blow osu out of the water. and the cool thing is osu is climbing fast while it seems psu has stayed the same. psu is a good school but so is osu.
  12. ^oh geez. ya know, youd think id be used to this whole michigan fans in ohio thing since I have lived with one for the past 4 years now but you know what, its just not cool. but seriously.....
  13. oh geez. michigan certainly will have to play better than they did against BALL STATE too. :-P
  14. that does look great. so is this 'hood close to downtown hamilton or where is it?
  15. just an fyi, the business may be back in the city, just not downtown, in a year. hes moving the bus. to a temp. location so they can re-org, evaluate, etc. and then find a permanent home again and he hopefully, if i have something to say about it, he will atleast go back to the urban core and not sprawl-type areas. we will see.
  16. so I guess I should post this here. My dad sold his building in downtown. Its the one at the corner of ninth and vine I think right next to Hamburger Marys(or whatever its called now) But the guy he sold it to plans to convert the first floor to an art gallery and he wants to live on the top 2 floors. I am glad someone like that is getting the building but it is sad to see the building go as my dad's business, and my grandpa's business, and his dad's and his dad's business, Handy Window Shade, has been in that building for a while, since 1902 I believe. Anyway, unfortunately my dad is moving the business to the 'burbs to take advantage of lower tax situations and more business I guess.
