  1. Broadway Commons use to be a rail yard similar to Queensgate, and before the development of Union Terminal this site was also considered for the terminal
  2. In the Centennial Park Plan Broadway Commons is slated to become a park. How big, I don't know. That could really make those prices explode. I think that a park in combination with development would be the best answer.
  3. December 31, 2008 Moerlein buys Little Kings By Mike Boyer [email protected] Cincinnati beer baron Greg Hardman, on a mission to recreate Cincinnati's brewing heritage, said this morning he's acquired the Little Kings Cream Ale brand, famous for its seven-ounce green bottles. Details on the purchase weren't immediately available. But with the purchase, Hardman, CEO of Christian Moerlein Brewing Co., has assembled some of the Queen City's best-known beer brands. Besides Moerlein acquired in 2004, Hardman purchased Hudepohl 14K, Hudy Delight and Burger Beer brands two years ago. "What we're about with the return of Little Kings is the same thing that we've been doing with Christian Moerlein Lagers and Ales the last four years, which is repositioning the brands to make them relevant with today's consumers," he said.

  7. Christian Moerlein Ale Haus?
  8. i know this is off topic but what is the typical length of a streetcar?
  9. This is the kind of thinking that our city needs. We really need to create an updated plan for regional transit, and we should have brought it to vote when gas was at $4.50. The country and people's mind sets are rapidly changing and we need to jump on the wave so that we don't get left even further behind.
  10. although i'm very excited about potentially having a streetcar I'm concerned that we need to implement rapid transit along with the streetcar systems to connect the dots.
  11. I think that a system should be focused more on creating/strengthening neighborhoods. Park and rides IMO only cause more sprawl. Installing rapid transit in our older neighborhoods would be best because they are already walkable and you can connect the dots with streetcar systems. Sure this type of format would be costly and would take longer, but we cannot continue down the road that we have been for the past 50+ years. Sprawl is not sustainable and by making the commute easier for people in mason and west Chester only promotes it. In my mind connecting Peebles Corner Mt. Lookout Square, Ludlow Business District, Hyde Park Square, UC, Xavier, The Zoo, Union Terminal, ect. to downtown is the best plan because they offer the most return. If in 25 years we are in a situation where our older neighborhoods are completely saturated then move to the park and ride.

That really is amazing. Incredible how much detail use to be used in architecture.

It will employ 20 to 24 people and operate daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Chipotle will host a fundraiser to benefit the Freestore Foodbank on Thursday, Dec. 4, where visitors can buy a burrito and drink for $5. 15. I'm assuming that this is including La Normandy building. Does anyone know if the floors above La Normandy are vacant. Those would make great condos

In my opinion it is important to grow your transit system the way the cities grew originally. For instants start downtown then to OTR then to Mt. Auburn, west end, Clifton, East Walnut hills, ect. ect. Make transit where people will use it. People who live in the suburbs are obviously people who don't care to use the transit and probably wouldn't. I think that by trying to implement a system that serves everyone will cause it to be spread to thinly. Have downtown be the hub and then the further and further you get away from the core the thiner the coverage becomes.

I backpacked to Mykonos a couple of years ago and just got my pictures online. Sorry the quality is a little poor on some of the shots. I wasn't using a great camera.
  20. Right now my firm is working on a project in the Anacostia Water Front in Washington D.C. that is very similar to what Portune is talking about. One of the things that has really been bothering me about the "Downtown Renaissance" (don't take this the wrong way) is the lack of cohesive planning. For example take the Gateway Quarter streetscape renovations. A portion of them have recently been completed and I believe that another portion is slated to start soon, and there was no green initiative taken to address storm water. There are many things that could have been done to reduce or mitigate stormwater runoff - Bio-retention cells, permeable pavers, LED lighting and the list could go on and on. We really need to create a vision before we keep piling on more and more investment money. With out a guideline the same thing will happen at the Banks. It is imparative that the leaders see this before we move forward. I'm so fired up right now that I think i will compose a letter to the council as well as the county. And for those of you who are interested here is the link to the project that I was talking about. http://www.planning.dc.gov/planning/cwp/view,a,1285,q,571105,planningNav_GID,1708.asp
  21. Fredrick Law Olmstead (Father of American Landscape Architecture) said that Spring Grove is one of the best example of a romantic landscape design in the world. I agree with him
  22. With the recent election, and the casino failing i was thinking that it would be very cool to see some type of Casino resort complex designed for Coney Island and the Delta Queen could be a taxi from downtown to coney. Having gambling there would tremendously help hamilton co. and also could make it possible to reduce the vast amounts of surface lots at coney as well as transform it into an elite resort. This could be a great resort with the horse tracks, riverbend, coney, a golf course, restaurants, and possibly a hotel. I'm guessing that there is a problem that this is in the flood plane.
  23. That is great news. Any idea what is going in its place?
  24. yeah if you check the webcam right now there are lights on
