Seicer and I walked the entire "figure 8" loop today from his apartment and all the way around. For anyone that thinks OTR is truly the most dangerous neighborhood in America or that this streetcar would go "nowhere," you're an idiot. Photos and write up soon.

Seicer and I just came from Park+Vine and Findlay Market. Streetcar shirts are selling like crazy!

"I'm worried they'll try to confuse the public or twist the wording to their advantage..." - Chris Smitherman Wait, so it's not ok for city council to do that, but perfectly fine for him and finney to do that? Smitherman is such a tool.

Yeah, they changed the link to a cahced image of the site, instead of as it appears now. COAST doesn't like it much when someone points out the truth about them.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
COAST was kind enough to link to one of my articles on their daily joke newsletter, I mean their blog: http://coast-usa.blogspot.com/2009/07/luken-enquirer-shine-spotlight-on.html Click "Cincinnati's Other Abandoned Subway" and see what comes up.

Any idea what the hell this is: http://coast-usa.blogspot.com/2009/07/senator-kearney-65-of-city-voters-are.html I don't see anything here in this post showing the poll results or anyone quoted on leaking them... also, what's with the twitter thing?

Here's some photos of the COAST crew at a recent tea party, note the posters in the background: "Sign the Streetcar Petition" I also love how on www.wedemandavote.com they're STILL claiming the green party supports them and this is for the benefit of HAMILTON COUNTY voters. Last time I checked, didn't the Green Party retract their support of the charter amendment?

2010 Gubernatorial Election
Was just about to ask if anyone knew his position on the 3C corridor. I'm a strong republican, but have been pretty content with Strickland and the 3C corridor is a big thing for me.

CLEVELAND - the GIFT of Goodtime!!!
"Hope you enjoyed!" Certainly did. After visiting Cleveland a few weeks ago for the first time in years, I have a newfound respect. Beautiful midwestern city!

Cleveland subway tours. Worth the drive?

Cleveland - Abandoned and active rail
While I do a lot of Cincinnati photography, I do get out on occasion, like this time I went to Cleveland to check out their abandoned subway and ride the RTA: Thanks to all the UO members who gave me advice on the RTA and other things to do in the city, had a great time visiting Cleveland! Hopped on the RTA at Ohio City shortly after where apparently I was sitting right next UO member jpop for awhile: My trip on the RTA was my first trip on a real urban rail line. I loved it. Made me very envious of Cleveland. To check out even more photographs, some historical information and to see my adventure on the RTA check out the latest update at www.queencitydisco.com Thanks for viewing!

Cincinnati :: Joe's one room OTR apartment.
I'll tell Chap to look into it. Not sure what's going with the renovation project at the moment. I'll give him a call later today and try to get an update for you guys.

Cincinnati :: Joe's one room OTR apartment.
Most of the ones in good condition were boxed up and saved I believe. My buddy is still holding out hoping a family member will be found, if not I believe he's keeping a few just for himself to remind him of this place and some books that are just ancient looking. The rest he will be donating...no intention of selling them and keeping the money for himself.

Cincinnati :: Joe's one room OTR apartment.
Woah, sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this thread. Thanks everyone for reading and checking it out, work has just been a bitch lately. quote: "Someone in the comments on the blog posted a death listing. Gordan, do you think that's him?" - I wrote down Joe's ssn from one of the cards I found and compared it to the listing provided, it looks like that yes it was him. Seems Joe passed away on Oct. 31, 2008 of this year. Last place of residence was across the river in Covington, KY. quote: "What happened to all the books? Or better yet, what is going to happen to all the books" - My friends who were working on the renovations were working their way up, so for the time being they stayed put. The plan was to eventually renovate the entire building even the one room apartment in the attic, but it seems the renovation has fallen through. I'm not exactly sure what is going to happen to most of the stuff. quote: "What kind of books did he read?" - All kinds. From books on war to children's books to fantasy stories. He had a massive range of genres in there. Thanks again for checking this out everyone, this is one of the coolest things I've ever gotten to write about/photograph.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I often enjoy a lot of the programs on 700 WLW; Eddie and Tracy being the one I seem to hear most often with my current work schedule. As much as I like some shows, Eddie and Tracy are an absolute joke. Tracy is so full of himself it's like you'd almost think he was kidding, but it's so sad that he's not. Does he realize that he wasn't that good of a ball player?

Cincinnati :: Joe's one room OTR apartment.
Ok, so here's the quick version of the story: Joe Wilcher was a Korean War combat veteran living in the one room apartment in the attic of a building in Over-The-Rhine. One day in June 2001, Joe just up and left leaving behind all of his personal belongings including his war metals, social security information, identification and a massive collection of books and literature. A friend of mine is working on renovating the building and invited me to photograph the room before all it's contents are removed. That's the short story, for the full story go to www.queencitydisco.com if you're interested in more pictures and the full deal. -Shower modified as a bookshelf. VIew from the apartment: Thanks for checking these out. Since most of the stuff has to be removed, if anyone has information to the whereabouts of the guy or his family we'd like to get them his belongings. Check out www.queencitydisco.com for more photographs and the full story! Thanks for viewing!

It all starts to crumble now. After riding Cleveland's RTA Red Line today...I really hope we get the streetcars and start to rethink regional light rail.

Cleveland subway tours. Worth the drive?
Thanks again for everyone's help! I drove up today, tour was excellent. Rode the RTA red line just to check it out, then shot some photos of the skyline from various areas and checked out the west market. Had to go back to cincy quickly, but can't wait to go back to Cleveland this summer. Your football team sucks more than Cincinnati's, but everyone I met was friendly and the city was beautiful! :p Pictures in a few days. Edit: Nice photos, jpop!

Cleveland subway tours. Worth the drive?
Thanks for the quick and helpful responses everyone. Can't wait to get up there tomorrow. I figure we're gonna just go up and wing it. Check out the subway tour then just explore...we'll find something to enjoy. I want to take a small trip on the RTA loop, just to experience it and there are a few abandoned buildings we may explore among other things. Pics will be posted when I get back (and get a day off work :/ ). Thanks again for the help, looking forward to being back in Cleveland for the first time since 2005! Edit: Do any of the skyscrapers in Cleveland have observation decks?

Thanks for the input fellas. Think it matters if the weather is crappy? I figure with it being undergroundish it can't be too bad.

Does anyone know the typical places where the C.O.A.S.T. petitioners hang out? It may be fun/interesting to just go stand next to them, that way we can properly warn any prospective signer.
