  1. All I know is that 5/3 is opening a retail branch on the 1st floor in a space in the "elbow" of the property. The endcap next to Rock Bottom is still vacant, though. I see that to be prime retail due to its frontage on 5th, though it is somewhat hidden now by Via Vite. Not sure what kind of retail it lends itself to - perhaps a clothier? Jos. A Bank and Brooks Brothers are right across the street, so I don't know of the demand for another high-end retailer like a Polo store, but it could be there. It seems as though the area is saturated with bar/restaurants, so it's doubtful another one would go there (plus the current restaurants probably have some exlclusions built in their lease). Especially since you have every target market covered in the restaurant-going demographic. Perhaps an art gallery? Specialty foods store? Wine store?
  2. I can see its highest and best use as almost a large boutique-type retailer i.e. Urban Outfitters, etc. Not sure if the location fits, however.
  3. Sorry - not a fan of Potbelly's. Food isn't what it's cracked up to be. Decent at best, and way over-priced for the quality of food you get.
  4. I walked past Boi Na Braza Wednesday night and there wasn't an empty seat in the house - is this the norm? I hope so, I still haven't been but want to try it!
  5. Your recollection about the light strands from the hands matches mine. Ok, so I'm not crazy. But what happened to that? Wouldn't it look good?
  6. ^That's disgusting. I drove past tonight on my way home... do they not have any signage on the building indicating that the place is Nada? Or is that part of the funky mystique of the place? Or is it simply on back order? And how was the food???
  7. question: at one point during the holidays when they shut off the water didn't they have Christmas lights running from the Genius' hands to the base of the fountain or is that just me being delusional again? If not, then I think it could look good.
  8. It's called a park - it is the plan. And if kids (high school age+ that are the problem) need something to do... it's called school. It's called homework. My parents made me do it, and I went to college and have a job. I played organized sports (through school, which last time I checked, wasn't dead yet). I wasn't hanging out at the pool or b-ball court.
  9. Mandatory response: if you're eating that late, you're (a) too drunk to care, or (b) already fat!
  10. Grand plans Washington Park expansion to help remake Over-The-Rhine BY LISA BERNARD-KUHN | [email protected] A plan to renovate one of Cincinnati's oldest parks is seen as a key to revitalizing one of its oldest, most architecturally remarkable and most troubled neighborhoods. Under a proposal expected to be unveiled Tuesday, Washington Park is poised to get a bold face lift and be expanded to more than 6 acres. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20071126/NEWS01/711260361/
  11. ^Don't think they'll have to worry about that
  12. Oh, that's great! Have your home page show kids throwing up gang signs! That will really have kids "grow and learn in positive ways" (<- quote from the website).
  13. I'm not sure what's worse - the fact that this man teaches media-related material, or that someone pays him to teach media-related material. Am I the only one that takes severe offense to the (tongue-in-cheek?) comparison of torture and the Banks???
  14. That's the dumbest, most juvenile, least imaginative thing I've seen out of the Enquirer in a long while - and that's saying a lot. It's not even creative and actually very inappropriate. How can an editor look at that and think it's a good idea to publish that garbage?
  15. They have speakers on poles near the trees. Sound is definitely on for games, special programming, etc. Not much of a nuisence.
  16. People... it's bar food... if you want good stuff, go to Via Vite or Palomino!
  17. Went to Via Vite last night again for happy hour, left at about 9:00ish. The place was packed! It's clearly the place to be in Cincy these days. The creme de la creme was there, including Bengal Caleb Miller and his smokin' hot wife (who I hear is Jeff Ruby's daughter?). Regardless - it was good stuff and a lot of fun! :drunk:
  18. Went to Via Vite for lunch today... PHENOMENAL!!! May I suggest the Italian sausage panini? Also, if you go, head out on the terrace and check out the view of the Square. PS - anyone know what they are installing between the fountain parallel to the short 5/3 building? It looks like grates/vents for the garage below, but they weren't there before. Anyone know?
  19. I heard from a very reliable source that 5/3 will be taking one of the locations for itself. It's retail and private banking operation is currently on the second floor in the North (one with the new facade) building. Since it is their corporate HQ, they want more of a visible presence there. I wish they wouldn't but I guess it makes sense. Oh well, more incentive for entertainment-oriented tenants to go to surrounding available spaces I suppose.
  20. How about just walking a couple of blocks to Club Bang? You need more than one, plus Bang's not open on Fridays. That's what I was getting at. But really what else could go in that district? I mean really think about it. I've posted the conundrum in more detail on my blog, feel free to leave feedback on there, too! :-Dnatilife.blogspot.com
