  1. @KJPhas written a few articles about a soccer team coming to Cleveland but at the site previously meant for the Browns south of the inner belt. I don’t remember if they were supposed to be a part of the USL or not, though. I’ll have to look through Neotrans to find the article.
  2. I think they got us on this as far as the location of any stadium is concerned😄
  3. I think this belongs here… https://clevelandcleats.com/?fbclid=PAAab5WfvNifGFG20P4lPKU1Xd9OLEAB8-wkiklUiFPUwERLmeVL1gnbVyepM Theres also an Instagram account, mentioning a NEW stadium. Justin Bibb responded in it: https://instagram.com/clevelandcleats?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  4. ^I would argue that the Browns record since 1999 is much more of a reason by non-sports fans in Cleveland to garner support for the stadium. The Deshaun Watson decision may be negative now but depends completely on if the team produces winning records and playoff runs in the future. That decision was made within the last year, versus 20 years of sadness and misery, with plenty of 4-12, 5-11 seasons along with the 1-15, and the second 0-16 season in NFL history mixed in.
  5. I hope it's similar- this is what they have on their website... I gotta say this would be pretty cool to have over by NASA Glenn.
  6. Both- and Public Hall is a gem. A gem that needs polishing, but a gem nonetheless.
  7. I think it will be an enormously hard sell to ask the public to finance another stadium given the team’s record over the past two decades… IF they don't at least get to the playoffs or even the AFC this year. And we all know how hard that will be.
  8. New numbers for the region from the BLS- looks like the Education and Health Services (Eds and Meds) sector is back around the pre-covid numbers regarding employment, with five months straight above 200,000 employed in the sector. Covid had a negative effect on the sector, which is something I didn't expect though it makes sense. The sector may be more recession proof than others under normal circumstances, but it took a hit during the pandemic and likely would take a hit in any pandemic from now into the future. I'm hoping to see the local economy get back on track to the numbers seen during 2019 by the summer, and hopefully, beyond those numbers going into next year. Maybe within the next two years barring a global recession, we'll be able to see the region's employment numbers surpass our pre-NAFTA employment- but this time being led by Eds and Meds, Trade, Business Services, and Government with Manufacturing being the fifth largest sector locally, as it is now. https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/SMU39174600000000001?amp%3bdata_tool=XGtable&output_view=data&include_graphs=true
  9. And now, what about the repeal of House Bill 6? That’s what needs to happen.
  10. I will be there- but I’ll be late 😩. One meeting in Euclid that I have to be at and then I’ll be on the way!
  11. The water gets muddy due to sediment run-off after storms- there’s not much anyone can do unless the region decides collectively to address the run-off caused by impervious surfaces. And if you think the water is muddy and gross now… we’re a long way from what it was before the last major river fire. But back to the Peninsula… the developments happening now will do a ton in transforming the City’s image. Plenty of aerial shots from above during nationally televised events will showcase the turnaround to everyone across the country.
  12. The crazy part is that even with all of that land, there is still a TON of land on the peninsula which could/should be redeveloped.
  13. A few taken today… including a pic showing the World Class Signage taken last night 😄
  14. Do we have a rendering to confirm this from this location?
  15. @KJPCongrats on your reporting! Your blog was just mentioned on 92.3 in their sports updates which run often on the station.
  16. If a new stadium is built along Lakeside- how about a Waterfront Line connection? With the potential spin-off I think it could be justified. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- Lakeside is THE most underutilized street downtown. Moving the stadium east would be great on so many levels.
  17. The view down Euclid and E. 9th is already feeling much more “wowing”; I wanted to stop and take a pic but I remembered we have a bunch here already :-D I’m ready for more skyline-changing construction and we’re not even done with this.
  18. Oh, you guys just wait till summer and the upcoming to-be-expected pics from the river with a fancy camera@MayDay
  19. Changes are happening; several building inspectors within the last year have either retired or are actively looking to leave due to increased accountability coming from Sally Martin. I know Sally personally and believe me- she's worth every penny she's being paid. This is part of the change that everyone wanted to see within the City. It's not always pleasant and these types of things will happen; however, the City's headed in the right direction.
  20. I was thinking the exact same thing😄
  21. Working on the 11th floor already?
  22. And 100% worth it to bring this building back to life. 1.4 Million sqft of dead space repurposed with people living, working, and doing business in it. It will quite literally be a city-within-a-city and add a ton of energy to downtown.
