  1. OHHHHHHHHHHHHH, my bad
  2. ^^RTA decided to build the brt line because building the dual hub subway ended up being too expensive when the plan was first introduced. This plan actually has changed over the last 20 years into what we are going to get, which is the brt.
  3. ^^Sweet pics I think we're on our way to having a healthy downtown. The magic number that would give us this is 25,000, at least according to Frank Jackson. We have a few years to go before we have that many people living downtown, but I don't believe it to be too far off into the future. When developers and investors see the success that the Pinnacle and District Park will have, we will see new housing construction sites popping up not just in the WD, but also in Gateway and other parts of downtown. With more people downtown, there's a good chance that run-off development will spill into the neighborhoods which need it. It will take time, but I believe right now we are a part of the city and the regions rebirth. As far as the political scene in this town... it's a good thing that the old power structure is getting older (Miller, Ratner, and the other billionaires that controll our politicians like puppets). Now we might actually get something done here LOL
  4. I didn't know that new constructions are topped off with pine trees LOL

  It's great to know that someone actually sees that uncontrolled sprawl isn't a good thing!!
  6. Great pic, you can see how Cleveland's downtown housing market has changed a once run down part of the city. Can't wait to see more
  7. Great pic, now it would be great to see how District Park will add to the skyline along with the Pinnacle.
  8. I wonder why they wrote "the downtown Cleveland housing market may not be so saturated after all". The writer acts like nobody is moving downtown anymore.
  9. How much development do you guys think the House of Blues will really generate? Will retailers want to put stores downtown because the House of Blues is nearby? I would hope so, because lower Euclid is pretty much desolate at night time, and House of Blues will definately add new life to the stretch.

Sure. Go away gays and lesbians. We don't want your money. We don't want you to start new businesses in our cities to help the tax base. We don't want to be seen as a progressive state. We'd rather you all go to Minneapolis or Chicago than to come and live in a city in Ohio. Honestly, what type of message are we trying to send to the nation?
  11. In the video, didn't they show how the busses would look? I don't remember them making a test run around town, but the busses in the video were painted just like our busses now (red, white and blue).
  12. Here's a link to the site with the video with highlights the ECP project. http://www.euclidtransit.org/euclid_corridor_project/video.asp
  13. FCE has the city by the balls, and it hurts. No one in city council, nor the mayor has the heart to demand use of this land from FCE. The city could use eminent domain, but I'm sure that FCE has city employees paid off (I believe that they gave Campbell campaign contributions when she was running for mayor) so nothing of that sort will EVER happen.
  14. Can't wait. It would be a different experience to go to Canada from Cleveland without having to drive 5 hours. I would say that most of the people on this board have never been on the ferry from Cleveland (unless you're older than 50), cuz it hasn't been here for 50 years.

^^^   I guess that's true!!!!
  16. Nice to see that major construction has been happening in other parts of the city besides downtown. Nice post

^^Couple of names I've heard for Akron are "the a.k." and "a-town" (of course Atlanta's nickname is "a-town"). Others for Cleveland are: The Land, DNA Level C, Land of the Scant, Theiveland, Land of the Heartless. I've just heard "the dirty Natti" for Cincinnati, and also Cincy. Columbus- the C.O. is the only nickname I've heard of for this town.
  18. Thanks, I'll make sure I get one
  19. ^^What street is their office located on?
  20. Whoa... can't wait to see if this project actually happens!!! (Cuz you gotta ask yourself that question when it comes to Cleveland). LOL
  21. Great thing these art projects will happen. They'll add new life to the area, ESPECIALLY the E.55th bridge.
  22. Does anybody know any info on this project? I remember first hearing of this project 3 years ago... but so far, I guess nothing has been done.
