  1. Correct- but that building would be hidden by the main SHW building since it will be built behind the main SHW building from this angle.
  2. Clean slate needed- infrastructure rebuilds and plenty demolitions required. However, EC is in better shape now than it was five years ago regarding the amount of vacant houses which have been demolished by the Land Bank. The city’s location is great and still retains its urbanity though much of it has been destroyed.
  3. They already do as part of many sentencings through Court Community Service. Not inmates, but people are given the option if they're in front of a judge and can't afford court costs. Typically, Court Work Service would be part of a person's probation. https://ccservice.org/
  4. ^Total non-farm employment numbers lie between 2016 and 2017 for June which is typically the peak employment for the year. We're not doing too bad but the economy is definitely still not fully back up to speed relatively speaking. When we get back to 2020's employment numbers, we'd still be about 60,000 off from the employment peak in 2000 pre-NAFTA.
  5. Can't get too excited... but...

100%, which is part of the reason why Hillary lost Ohio in 2016. Statistically, NAFTA cost Cleveland 50,000 manufacturing jobs which were never recovered. Campaigning on trade which would bring good paying jobs back would work in Ryan's favor.

Ochai with 24 yesterday, 4-8 from the 3.

We can hope that the pic isn't a bust- however, even putting that out there two games into the summer league seems a bit early. From all accounts Ochai is a solid NBA-ready pick, but let's give him a second or two.
  9. That is very frustrating to see. Not too long ago this street looked great. The building department should be contacted and UH should be cited. They should be treated no different than any other property owner in the city.
  10. "Oh, and keep an eye out for some juicy retail projects for downtown like a City Target, an urban format TJ Maxx and a national brand grocery store."
  11. There are developers who are at this point holding off on building even on things which have gone through planning commission due to the cost of materials on sites which are “luxury”. Just seeing this potentially get through planning and off the ground at this point in time says something.
  12. “Let me withdraw my application for a project I would stand to make millions of dollars off of because @KJPwrote a blog post on NEOTrans”. …Right. edit: I believe KJP all day- its MRN who seems to be full of it.
  13. The river typically looks like that after it rains, and that’s primarily due to sediment runoff. Impervious surfaces as well.
  14. That’s the best gif I’ve ever seen 😄
  15. $550M? That is indeed a whale as KKP mentioned earlier
  16. I was wondering what that construction was when I was going down Payne the other day! Thanks for the clarification.
  17. I can't say I buy the census numbers at this point, and I know I'm not the only one.
  18. I really like those infill houses! And its about time those lots between Cedar and Quincy got redeveloped. There are still three to four generations of families who have lived in the neighborhood for close to 100 years. Some of those side streets have a very strong home ownership presence.
  19. I wouldn't be able to make it on Fathers Day (also Juneteenth) but I think I'd be able to meet pretty much any other day.
  20. What a league- Robert Kraft gets caught… on tape… and has nothing happen to him because he’s an owner (case dismissed on a technicality, charges weren’t dropped). Watson has no criminal charges, no indictments… but could be suspended since he’s a player. Frustrating that those with the money make the rules, and control the narrative to a degree.
  21. CSU has some growing to do, and maybe some outreach to the local school districts could help. I don’t know if they do any already, but I don’t see how that could hurt.
  22. Look at neighborhoods outside of Ohio City, Downtown, University Circle, Tremont, and Detroit Shoreway, as I mentioned previously, and you’ll get more of a real picture of what houses are going for in a huge majority of the city. The prices just aren’t there in huge swaths of the city. If you think they are, prove me wrong.
