Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
I haven’t checked Cincy or Columbus’ numbers but if they’re not two months negative growth then the recession is localized. The question would be why. However, I will say that the BLS numbers for Cleveland historically are bad post revision every March. I don’t know how reliable the numbers are here and the reason why they’re always so bad post revision. I always questioned the reason why when compared to other cities but who knows.

Well, to the Cincinnati forumers who may be looking at what's going on in this thread... great news! The State legislature will be willing to skirt it's own law aimed at keeping the Bengals inside Cincinnati limits AND pay $600M (at least) towards the move! Isn't that great?!

^Ahh… the new silver bullet! I guess some of the local leaders believe every decade needs at least one silver bullet in Cleveland. “If only we had a domed stadium in the suburbs, we could compete with cities such as Nashville”!

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Sherwood Food Distributors is closing in Maple Heights. They employ 273 people, all of which will be laid off by April 21. This could be the first of many food distributors to close due to actions at the federal level, but I'm hoping not.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I will never understand how First Energy was able to walk away without addressing their own polluted cooling ponds during the demo process. Reading that literally made me mad. And I would agree that another industrial use at this site would be the last thing needed. Minus the polluted ponds, this is a blank slate to work with right o in front of the lake. Yes to the restaurants, places to live, clubs, and normal things you would find on a waterfront in a major city. Skip the industrial uses- there’s plenty of vacant land inland to work with for those uses. Rant off.

Could have been spontaneous combustion which though rare, happens during construction and rehabs. There was a house being rehabbed that caught on fire due to spontaneous combustion from rags and sawdust on Meadowbrook in University Heights a couple of years ago. The lot is still vacant today, but I doubt for long as the market there is still hot.- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Columbus got three (3) projects approved this round. Three.- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
A couple pre-renovation pics taken today… can’t wait to see the changes this will bring (and about time) 🙂- Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
^It won’t. Team NEO will likely be on it. For those who don’t know, Team NEO is the reason Intel considered Ohio to begin with. The ONLY reason why the Cleveland region didn’t get the project is there was not enough developmental land ready to go (I believe Intel wanted 1,100 acres ready, which had not been assembled here previous to Team NEO speaking with Intel). Columbus just lost out on Foxconn previously but kept assembling land after the loss. Team NEO called Columbus and lobbed them the play. That’s why I’m gonna wait a bit before feeling any type of way about Cleveland Cliffs.- Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
He’s saying this now… give it time.- Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
Again, I would hope that this is posturing for the future and a "wake-up call" for the City and County (along with Team NEO) and State. There's no way all three bodies let Cleveland-Cliffs just walk without meeting to discuss incentives first.- Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
Well... I'm sure that got the attention of the City, the County, and the State of Ohio.- Cleveland: Shaker Square: Development and News

I just thought about something... IF this move happens over to BP, are we gonna kiss the Goodyear Blimp goodbye? I would presume there would be no more aerials of the city being that close to an airport. Just another reason to kill this 🤣- Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
A couple things to consider- 1) The ownership of the land in the picture changing hands over time (finally). 2) The market just not being able to justify new construction for the longest due to local prices being too low to warrant it- for both residential and office/commercial. 3) Subsidies to make the construction make sense sometimes still couldn’t fill the gap. 4) Potential clean-up costs of the land would also play a factor. Thankfully, those years are behind us 👍- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
