Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
^I would agree, but I don't know if I would like an all-glass tower on Public Square. I would like something contemporary which blends in well with the Big 3. I think a tall all-glass office skyscraper would look great between E. 9th and E. 12th, as far as placement of a new all-glass would go. But on Public Square? I don't know. I just realized that we're finally at the point where we can argue amongst ourselves about what would look best on the Jacobs Lot. All-glass or not, it'll be great to have that lot filled!

I like The Ellipse as well- if it fits their needs, then I would be glad to see them locate there. The more people on E. 9th the better.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Random angle of 200 PS which I’ve missed all of these years. Is there a thread for the building? I’ve got a few pics but wasn’t able to find a previous picture thread for it. And yeah, I know it’s not the best looking building downtown; but from certain angles, it’s a show-stopper.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
^Lakeside has the most unrealized potential of any street downtown. Think about it- past East 13th the uses include the WKYC and the regional FBI headquarters (which killed any potential urbanity for that stretch of the street), City EMS training, a bunch of parking lots, a power plant, the main men’s homeless shelter for the city, etc. i think the municipal uses could be moved if there was enough interest in developing the street. The parking lots are a blank slate as well. That could be a completely different stretch of downtown if the demand was there.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^If we can build an average of 1500-2000 units per year, we'll be past 30k in no time. And looking at other metros, the amount of folks who live downtown is more than 1% of the folks who live in their region. If Cleveland/Akron/Canton is still at 3.5 Million, the region may still be able to gain 10,000 or more downtown. Our downtown is sorely missing for-sale units. I'm hoping that the next 10,000 includes more for-sale units than we've gotten in the past.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Great news @KJP! The overall site plan would be great if it's fully realized. At this point I'm just hoping for the Kenect phase to be built- which would be a great addition. And... "Wolstein reportedly is involved in the embryonic stages of another downtown Cleveland mixed-use tower, this time in the Warehouse District near the site of the planned Sherwin-Williams headquarters. In contrast to the Flats East Bank development's next phases, he refused to comment on the tower."

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
868 units? Nice number. That corner will be one of the busiest in the city. Edit: With 868 extra units, this corner could have well over 2,000 units with the new City Club apartments being built across Euclid, along with the Euclid Grand as well.

Personal Finance / Investing Thread
Whatever happened to that Athersys company? Didn't they have advanced testing for a drug which was supposed to help with the affects of Covid-19? Seems like they may be missing the boat. I've decided to get into stocks- I'm a complete beginner so I have no clue what to invest in.

The Devon Energy Center is indeed a great looking building, without question. I could definitely see something like that in Downtown Cleveland. i think we’ll be getting something that looks even better than the previous plan for a tower (Amazon bid), originally made by SW per @KJP. 2020 has sucked so much- this is the best news the region has received all year ?

^Or no bridge- maybe they could tunnel underneath W. 3rd for employee access. It's been done before here, and could be done again. The tunnel underneath Lakeside connecting the Huntington garage to the Justice Center is an example.- Cleveland: St. Clair-Superior (non-Asiatown): Development and News

Final approval for Waterford Bluffs today... don't know why the City decided to remove the images from the planning commission website. Makes zero sense.- Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
^A lot of that could be due to folks just having misconceptions about the census- especially in poor areas. As an example, if there is an old warrant out for someone and the census worker comes knocking at the door, if that person doesn't know any better they'll ignore the census worker believing the census will tell where the person lives. They won't (unless that changed), but that isn't pushed out into the neighborhoods with low counts.- Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
I don't think the Huntington Convention Center was built for things like the Boat, RV and Auto shows. I remember the plan was to have both the IX Center and the Huntington run concurrently for separate audiences- with medical trade shows being the main focus (at least when it was built) of the Huntington. No more Ix Indoor Amusement Park for the kids... just for that reason alone I would hope another operator would come in when the economy turns around. That may be me just being selfish- of course I loved the Auto and Boat shows but being able to take the kids somewhere when it could be 60 degrees or 30 degrees outside was something we do at least once a year.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters

Thanks @KJP! One area of the neighborhood I would love to see get some attention is one of Cleveland’s forgotten neighborhood downtowns- the stretch along Lakeview close to Arlington. There have been several demos but there are enough standing buildings left that you can see it was once a cool little commercial corridor. The infill and renovations are really taking off south of Superior in through Wade Park. There’s been a few north of St. Clair that I’ve seen but not too many. When the large homes along E. 105th north of Superior get more renovations, we’ll know for sure the neighborhood is on its way back.- Suburban Cleveland: Development and News

Outstanding pics @MayDay! I’m with you on the satellite disks on the crown of Key as well. Not a fan. Those lake and river views are gonna change soon with SHW added to the mix. Can’t wait for that!- Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
^Most people now have smartphones- I completed it through Chrome on my phone. Ive been trying to get the word out about the Census- it took me less than five minutes to complete. These rates do not bode well for the region. - Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
