  1. I just spent the last 15 minutes looking at the renderings, and I like it- I like everything about this project so far! I don't want to get too far ahead of myself... but I sure as heck wasn't expecting this to be over 600 feet. The design I like as well.
  2. Looks like the height of the residential tower is now 550 feet according to the article... very nice!
  3. From today... Exterior work beginning...
  4. ^Regarding hip-hop, there were very few groups bigger than Bone back in the 90's. Their sound was completely original and is pretty much used by most rappers nowadays. They continue to tour nationwide. Today there's MGK and Kid Cudi who are mainstream along with some underground acts which have the chance to shine. Having two (three counting Bone) national acts out of Cleveland doesn't necessarily make Cleveland a mecca, but it's good representation for the genre when most cities in the midwest have few, if any hip-hop artists who are mainstream.
  5. Outstanding pics of one of the best neighborhoods in the state (and the Midwest)! I like the angles of the photos that you took as well.
  6. I wanted the May Company to win- but I'm happy for Cincy that the Music Hall won out. We are all urban enthusiasts (most of us, at least) here- and I don't think anyone can deny that the Music Hall is a huge gem. The developer may be mad now- and maybe even justifiably so. But the May Company building will be reborn one day soon. Maybe not as soon as the developer had hoped, but as others have said: the market for apartments is too hot for this building, in this location, to be empty for too much longer. Congrats Cincy
  7. 550 feet put's it above Erieview Tower in height. That would be a great addition to the skyline!
  8. Happy Hollidays! Taken this morning.
  9. Yeah..,
  10. From this morning... Check the dirty sheets!! ;-)
  11. And today...
  12. Leglamp = Awesomeness (Sorry for lack of quality)
  13. ^I wonder how much the lot will increase in value from a $30 million dollar investment in public space literally across the street? I also wonder what point would the investments around the lot raise the value to the point where it wouldn't make sense to keep holding off on development.
  14. ^One could only hope. My hope is that it's not just local companies who would like to move into a tower on Public Square- that maybe larger companies outside of the region would like the address as well.
  15. ^Cleveland and Cleveland Heights share a border with E.C., but not Euclid (Euclid borders Euclid-Green, which is Cleveland). There are positives and negatives for any city which agrees to annex all or part of E.C. (requiring a vote of the people under normal circumstances; I don't know what would be required if the city is found to be insolvent). E.C. has a mountain of problems; but also considerable assets which could be utilized fuller by Cleveland especially. Some of the larger homes west of Superior along the side streets on Euclid are immaculate (I once considered buying one back in 2008 but backed away due to the sheer amount it would cost to rehab- the home was beautiful though- columns, a spiral staircase, a large fireplace on both the first and second floors, HUGE bedrooms- and this was a single unit dwelling). I, for one, though I don't live in Cleveland proper currently, would be against partitioning part of E.C. to Cleveland Heights if I lived in Cleveland. Giving Cleveland the majority of E.C.'s problems (south of Euclid) and Cleveland Heights many of the city's assets (north of Euclid) would be unfair and further burden the taxpayers of Cleveland. E.C. as it currently stands needs to shed several hundred (if not more) abandoned properties still- even after demolishing hundreds in the past few years. That problem rests south of Euclid in large part. The development potential is low currently for the properties south of Euclid as well- even with the Red-Line station. There's large swaths of now vacant properties which used to house large apartment buildings along Haden (close to Windermere), with many vacant multi-family units along Shaw, Coit, and Woodland which will remain vacant due to the sheer amount of properties which need to be torn down. I would be for giving Cleveland all, or nothing. If you're going to give Cleveland E.C.'s problems, give Cleveland E.C.'s assets as well. The area does have potential- there's just a massive amount of work left to be done which should not be left to Cleveland without giving Cleveland the chance to develop the current assets which E.C. has now.
  16. Updates for today:

^The Cavs have the most media attention on them right now when compared to any other team in the league. I wouldn't put too much into what are rumors being put out there by another team. I've seen some point to the 2-3 start as proof that Love wants to leave. There's two problems with that line of thinking: 1) The team knows that it has to gel some more, and 2) We're only a few games into the season!! Kevin Love wanted to come here for the chance to be on a team with true potential to pull off a championship (not two, not three, ok, I kid). Sportswriters live to beat up on Cleveland. It's like a national past time for some, and the season just started. Don't sweat it.
  18. My guess is that the last pieces of funding for PS are in place, and construction will go forward. It would be great if some type of surprise development was announced today though (Jacobs lot? East Bank Phase 3? Parking-Lot District lots?).
  19. Definitely would want the multiple towers versus one supertall. Sure, you can see the supertall from a distance- but our downtown has plenty of room for 60+ story towers in the future, if and when the market allows. Adding the density with multiple 20+ story towers is what I would prefer.
  20. This morning...
  21. Updates from today...
  22. Pics from today and yesterday... Gotta give the construction workers props- they've got more courage than I when it comes to balancing high off the street! From the street, the construction is now taller than the Med Mart...
  23. ^Over 60,000 jobs created here in the past year? I'll take that!
  24. LOL I saw myself in the video! It's official now- that video is platinum. Thumbs up!
