Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Phil Jackson's contract with the Lakers is up this year, no? GET HIM OVER HERE!!!! It's looking like we might not make it with Mike Brown... With a bench as deep as ours, this series SHOULD NOT be 3-2 headed back to Boston, with two embarrassments at home nonetheless. Unacceptable.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
They got themselves in this position. Now they have to get themselves out. I might have to take back my comments about Mike Brown, however. Phil Jackson- you're free after this season...

Southeast Cleveland (Spring 2010) - Part I
Thanks for the pics! DAMMIT I wish job demand would pick up in the city to revitalize many of the east-side neighborhoods around University Circle. Even with the dirt and grit, places like Buckeye have their own charm.

Canal Fulton, Ohio
Canal Fulton has a great, historic look to it. On my trip through there all I could say was "WOW"! Thanks for the pics!

Downtown Population
I put that there for reference. I know... I'm hoping that we're close to 15,000, but I guess we'll have to see.

Downtown Population
^While we wait for the updates from the census, I think I recall Cimperman's population estimate for downtown Cleveland at 13,000... hopefully downtown's numbers grew more than that this past decade.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I don't know if I would be too quick to fire Mike Brown. If you look at the team we have today compared to the team that got swept by the Spurs in the finals, we're in a much better position today than we were just 3 years ago. If Mike Brown could take the team of 3 years ago to the finals, he can surely coach THIS team to a championship ring....... or so I hope.

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
Avogadro- GREAT NOTES! I'm looking forward to what is proposed. Thanks!!

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
^I hope that didn't lead to the proposition that the mall be turned into one huge cul-de-sac (ba-dum, bum, pish). Sorry- couldn't resist. I agree with giving the mall multiple uses, as long as the end result is distinctly Cleveland, and not Chicago or some other city we "aspire" to be.

MAYDAY!! If you get the chance- PLEASE get a pic of these! They can hate all they want, but this is the best team in the league! GO CAVS!!!

CH DEFINITELY has to fix up Taylor Rd.- it's a nightmare trying to keep your alignment intact in that street from Mayfield north to E.C..

Get rid of zoning? Euclid Ave v Peachtree (Atlanta)
This is Cleveland- it's TOO EASY in many circumstances to get zoning variances. At this point in time, I would stick with zoning until demand picks up (WAY up) to the point where developers would have no choice but to build at high densities. Otherwise, we end up with "what the market demands".

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
^^Or Cleveland... look at the WHD, Erieview, etc. Well, it's good to know that it appears that the company is just going through the motions and more than likely won't get too far. How is it that buildings in our core are allowed to deteriorate to the extreme point where they are ALLOWED to be demolished? Market forces, I know... I'm just venting.

Cleveland: Health-Tech Corridor
I dream of a high-rise on the parking lot at East 4th and Prospect. With built in parking. And an ESPN Zone. Ah, well. Guy can dream, right? One of THE MOST valuable lots downtown, especially with a casino a block or two away in one direction, Quicken Loans Arena across the street in another direction, and East 4th on another. Talk about potential! I've pretty much abandoned the idea of having a mixed use residential neighborhood along this stretch. It's obvious that much more powerful forces were in play since the Healthline was completed. Since the region is pushing for a health-tech corridor, I'm all for it. We might not get a cohesive neighborhood in Midtown, but there are other areas of the city which will undoubtedly benefit from the corridor. Glenville, Hough, and Fairfax are three right off the bat- great potential for new developments in the neighborhoods surrounding the stretch.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Um... what a surprise this is. When dealing with Forest City, there's hold ups. Even when the person dealing with Forest City is a billionaire.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Yeah... three years is NOT that long at all. I'm don't mean to be a debbie downer, but I think this is just postponing the inevitable. I hope the workers at the plant are thinking about the future- I really don't see this company in the region for the long term.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I'm at Koko bakery at least once a week, usually two- and I can attest to the greatness of their bubble teas! My favorite is a strawberry and mango combination- it's the BEST! I usually get a chicken terriyaki rice bowl to go with it.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
No doubt those are great looking bus structures, but sure don't look like they'll protect from rain, wind, or snow. +2 for the design, though.

^I hope someone at Saigon is paying attention to that... I really like the line-up of restaurants on the street as of now. Hopefully, the struggling businesses are able to turn things around.
