  1. The Richman Brothers Clothing Factory is a MASSIVE complex. I've always wondered if that could be converted into some type of live/work space for artists. Great pics!!
  2. ^It sure does. Ports along the the Great Lakes are at a disadvantage as the large ships that frequently visit ports in cities like Boston and New York cannot reach cities such as Cleveland and Detroit since the seaway is both too narrow and shallow. However, because of the seaway, the distance to ship materials from Great Lakes to Europe is shorter than shipping goods from the east coast due to the curvature of the earth. Expanding the seaway would be a definite boost to the economies of the great lakes cities, and should at least be studied further.

That is a great part of the city!! Thanks.
  4. Here come more blows to the State of Ohio... Chrysler, Ford idle factories; GM delays new plant By TOM KRISHER, AP Auto Writer Tom Krisher DETROIT – Chrysler announced Wednesday it is closing all its North American manufacturing plants for at least a month, the starkest move taken by U.S. automakers as they anxiously await word about government loans. All three companies have been taking dramatic steps as they struggle to survive the recession and U.S. sales have dipped to their slowest rate in 26 years. Chrysler and General Motors fear they might not have enough money to pay their bills in a matter of weeks. Attempting to cut costs, GM was halting construction of a plant tied to one of its most important projects, the Volt. Ford also said it will shut down 10 plants for an extra week in January because of sluggish sales. Chrysler said it would extend the normal two-week holiday shutdown that begins Friday to at least Jan. 19 at all 30 of its factories due to slumping sales. 5. ^He's obviously not as "square" as he seems. Wow. He has to feel low knowing that he got caught on taking a bribe that was only $500.00. That's probably chump change for bribes.
  6. This is great news indeed!! Lets hope that this funding passes. We need this in Ohio!
  7. ^LOL, I was thinking the same thing!!
  8. Mov2Ohio- sorry that this incident happened to you. That is one place that I won't be visiting as well.
  9. Great pics!! Anyone know what the former land use was in regards to that patch of barren land in the third pic?
  10.   I'm glad that our mayor gets it. I've said the same thing about our news media over and over again, and it's good that at least some of our politicians get it.

Posted by Krazyk47 on 11/28/08 at 12:16PM The biggest perpetrator of negative attitudes about Cleveland is the Pee Dee. This paper is garbage. Everything in it is written from the perspective of 60 year old insurance salesman living in strongsville. The city of Cleveland is not that bad, and University Circle is not that great but that is not the perception you would get reading this rag. LOL!!
  12. The destruction of North Collinwood's Commodore...
  13. OK, I'll play along... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xUGRngAhBI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xUGRngAhBI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  14. I took pics of what's left of the Commodore today :( I'll post them later
  15. This is good news. Let's hope that the Huntington building is developed into condo units in the future. The signage on 200 Public Square is not overbearing, and does not take away from the building's look (in my opinion).
  16. Go get em, Dennis!! Dammit!! National City was deemed to fail by regulators, huh? Cleveland is getting screwed by our own federal government.
  17. We'll see what MMPI has to say. As others have stated, I don't know how much merit Nance's comments have concerning this. MMPI has the final say (though the commissioners have the final decision).
  18. Yep, they sure were. I love going down Euclid after I get out of class at CSU. Terminal Tower looked GREAT last night with just the section on top that was lit.
  19. Excellent photos!!

  21. That is GREAT NEWS!! As much of a roller coaster ride this has been, I'm gonna wait to pop the bottles until an official release comes out. :drunk:
  22. Is anybody else as sick of this sh!t as I am?!! AHHHH!! It's time the PD get that picture, as they are the MAIN media group that characterizes the city in this type of way!!!
  23. ^I would definitely put Litt in the same crowd. He, unfortunately, is another that likes to throw in those negative comments about the city, in articles which are supposed to be about ARCHITECTURE.
