Re Priceline: Go to biddingfortravel.com and read up on what people are getting and the Priceline bidding strategy. It'll take 10-15 minutes to figure out what's going on, but can be worth it. I've bid Priceline 5 times (when moving here and looking around) and got the Holiday Inn Select 4 times and the Hyatt (Arcade) once (both "3-star" properties on Priceline). I seem to remember paying $35 and $38 (plus tax and priceline fees, so more like $50), but this was 18 months ago and all were for weekend stays (one was a Browns home game weekend, though).
