La Dolce's owner owns the vacant theater (not 100% sure). Re: Crime LI does have some issues and mostly it comes from the neighborhood kids, mostly petty theft and B&E if anything. In the grand scheme, nothing major, you'll only notice if you work/live there.

i was trying (half-assedly...) to infuriate those worried about a nanny-state. If you think this smoking backlash is harsh, just wait to see what creative solutions governments can come up with to combat obesity (and no, I'm not talking about a presidential fitness award). On second thought, maybe the rise in obesity is directly linked to the decrease in smoking....hmm....
