Cleveland development impacts on first suburbs
well i did a little research and found out something that may help us understand the orthodox, so according to wikipedia: so apparently there is a motive among some orthodox to not interact with you or I.

she could at least invest in photoshop. just because its grit, it doesn't make you artsy, and it certainly doesn't mean you can post crappy, poorly aligned photos, unedited and unbalanced.

Cleveland development impacts on first suburbs
peabody, haha! I live on the eastern edge of the orthodox neighborhood (wood rd to be exact), and i agree with your assesment of the orthodox. They are, hands down the most unfriendly group of people I have ever encountered. Being male or female, its obvious whether you are "one of them". I have never gotten a "hello", and its rare if i get a hello back. Kids will cross the street to avoid walking by me during a jog/stroll. Adults will keep their heads down, stop their conversation and avoid eye contact until we pass eachother and 10 yards is between us. One time, a youngster orthodox was walking a dog (didn't know they owned pets) and the dog ran away from the child into the street, I came about 1 ft from hitting the dog in my vehicle. As i came to a halt, I recommended to the kid, to consider a leash, and she just stared at me for a second, and kept walking. Oh, and the wearing black and walking in the streets at night has to stop, i'm going to nail one of them eventually.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
turning point actually has a specific regulation in the student handbook. Normally posting of flyers or chalking supposedly shoudl only be done one sidewalk, bboards or kiosks. The university is relatively lax on this subject, however, when i was there, any posting/chalking on turning point would merit a $100 fine. also, i wish that the ground crew would do a better job of mainting the floodlighting on the sculpture(and surrounding sculpture park) it really is beautiful on a summer's night. And yes i know its silly to be complaining about lightbulbs...... but in closing, i would add, that really no students have any idea that it is a PJ work, or just who the hell PJ is. Furthermore, i doubt many students realize the walker & weeks bulidings on campus, or the richard morris hunt we have on campus.

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
I'll bet you ten bucks right now its stays in wayne county, MI This Quicken Loans situation is a little different. Before they even open their planned office here, they announce they might consider Cleveland as a possibility for a relocated HQ. huh? You have Dan Gilbert saying great things, and of course he is an owner of the Cavs. Peter Karmanos, owner of the Carolina Hurricanes. HQ in detroit Bill Davidson, owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning. HQ in detroit Ralph Wilson, owner of the bills, never moved his operations out of detroit, and still lives there. And for spending one day in detroit over the last six years, you certainly are quick to point out how much better cleveland is, than detroit. Point is, don't make this a, cleveland is better than....... thread just for the sake of boosterism

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
yeah, gilbert would be looking to for something to take the edge off of the employer and the employee's share of the city income tax, considering the average income of a quicken loans employee is around 80,000

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
yeah, why not, we're basically discussing the same thing twice now.

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
turns out frank jackson has been trying to woo the entire quicken loans HQ, gilbert basically said 99.9% chance no.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
being an alum of case, about the only question you get is: "oh, is it a military school?" I can agree with Hundert wanting to get the school more name recognition (i.e. VP debates), but I don't think droping think dropping the WR of it was the way to go. Case University is still just as unknown outside of ohio and academia as CWRU is.
