  2. ^actually the local media says quicken and rock will be part of the same building
  3. yeah, hypothetically this could be a nice 1-2-3 combo for detroit in a five year period. 1) compuware 4000k jobs 2) visteon IT 400 jobs 3) quicken loans/rock financial 3000 jobs. i hope livonia dies a slow painful death.
  4. wow, a ferry running between two towns i've never heard of after actually looking at a map, am i led to believe this would be in competition to the port stanely to cleveland ferry?
  5. re 1: certainly so re 2: I think some people got a little ahead of themselves re 3: also very true, i'd also love to see livonia lose 3000 jobs to detroit given livonia's history
  6. still speculation, but this doesn't look well for cleveland: http://www.detnews.com/2005/business/0511/06/D01-372823.htm Rock Financial eyes Detroit HQ Livonia firm may need new hub when lease is up; some say site could be former downtown Hudson's. By R.J. King / The Detroit News DETROIT -- Livonia-based Rock Financial/Quicken Loans Inc., one of Metro Detroit's fastest growing companies, is scouting locations for a new headquarters including the site of the former Hudson's department store downtown, according to people familiar with the plans. Rock Financial on Friday confirmed it may need a larger headquarters when the lease on its Livonia headquarters expires in four years. The company, which has 3,400 employees and is hiring about 200 employees per month, also has workers in Auburn Hills, Farmington Hills and Troy.

its not telling anyone how to live their lives specificly but it does affect multiple parties: smokers, non-smokers, restaurant/bar employees, restaurant/bar owners, tobacco companies, insurance companies, etc (whether positively or negatively, i'm not here to debate that)

when i'm in columbus i'm not going to drive to dayton just to light up even when i'm in ontario, i'm not going to select a bar because it has a patio (and they have some pretty awesome ones there, for use in the winter), but if i end up a bar with smoking accomodations, so be it

  21. but UCI does have a reputation as being bad property owners (i.e. demolition), from the local residents, whether its true or not, you ask some of long time UC residents, and they really dislike UCI [/broad generalization] And really i think hessler only has a handful of the left over hippies. For the most part, its all rental housing for students.
