Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
i'm not one for logistics, i'd like to see some of the old street car lines re-established. Number one priority for me would be cliffton. I believe magyar has a map of the old lines (or maybe KJP you do too)? (there was the one map in the other thread, but i couldn't tell if it was proposed or existing)

Random Ohio Sports Talk
didn't see this one coming, (reposted from coffe talk b/c i'm an idiot) CLEVELAND -- Paul Silas was fired as coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday with his team fighting for a playoff spot after being in first place earlier in the year. Silas told The Associated Press he was called in Monday morning for a brief meeting with general manager Jim Paxson and new owner Dan Gilbert. "They released me," Silas said. "They didn't think the team was performing as well as it should be and they wanted to make a change." Despite having league superstar LeBron James, the Cavaliers have struggled since the All-Star break, losing seven of 10 and nine straight road games, including Sunday's 105-98 loss to Toronto when James scored a franchise-record 56. The team also fired Silas' son, assistant coach Stephen Silas. Assistant coach Brendan Malone will be the interim head coach. The Cavaliers are interested in Cleveland native Flip Saunders as the possible successor to Silas, league sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein. Since his firing in Minnesota, Saunders has said he plans to sit out the rest of this season, but his ties to the city and his lengthy experience coaching another star player out of high school -- Kevin Garnett -- have Cleveland's attention. Information from ESPN.com senior NBA writer Marc Stein and The Associated Press was used in this report.

Ohio - From Big State To Little State?
case always does horrible in those tests, typically outside of ohio and academia, the phrase case western reserve university usually conjures up images of a military school..... Side note, US News and reports has a reasonably weighted category based on name recognition, and Case usually will say their ranking is always a handful of spots lower because of name recognition......

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
yes, case is trying to expand. When they added about another 300 or so to the recent freshman classes, they realized there wasn't enough dorm space to accomodate the extra kids. So in the long run there will be an increase. And yes case does have a housing requirement, 3-yrs or 21 yrs of age to live off-campus. But its extremely easy to lie your way out of it.
