Stay out of Shaker Heights, there is NOTHING to see but mansion after mansion :roll:. But do stop by Shaker Square for a meal and if time allows the Shaker Lakes Nature Center. Although it has many mansions as well, Cleveland Hts., is a more livier "funner" burb. so if he had to hit one restaurant in the square, your vote is............

well does your friend have a moderately similar mindset as you monte? (i.e. public transit friendly, appreciation for good urban planning?) I mean Shaker Square is nice and all, but assuming you're coming during the day, the only thing you might get out of it is a good meal and some antiques.
