  1. They had better come to quick agreement on the Banks or no one is going to believe it will ever happen. Further delay is inexcuseable !!
  2. I also agree.
  3. Where did you hear or read about the demo date?!!!
  4. I think John Barrett of Western Southern finally figured it out: be less conservative in business practices, and be willing to take some risks (in regard to QCS Phase II) (gleaned from his comments in recent Enquirer article)
  5. Anyone have any thoughts about the possibility of a metro form of government for Cincinnati and the region?
  6. I don't know where that smily face came from!
  7. I made a list the other day of some of the recent positive developments that have occurred in Cincinnati: (1) Convention center expansion (2) Reduction in crime rate (3) Over The Rhine construction (4) Banks progress (5) Condo and apt development on both sides of the river (6)Queen City Square Phase II announcement (7) Announcement by the Mayor of larger City population, and the slight increase in population (8) Fountain Square redevelopment (9) increase in Backstage entertainment activity
  8. It should be obvious to anyone that the Empire State building is only one building out of many tall structures; while the Carew Tower and PNC buildings dominate the smaller Cincy skyline.
  9. I have always been impressed with the view of the Carew Tower from Fountain Square, but the view from directly north or south is not so impressive, because the building is so narrow in these directions. The view of downtown Cincy from places like Devou park is absolutely spectacular! ! But, most people when viewing a photograph of Cincinnati see the predominant buildings being the PNC (Central Trust!!) and the Carew Tower buildings and think of them as 1930-1950 structures. These make the city as appearing to be behind the times. We definitely need a new "signature" (skyscraper) to be built. Preferably near Fountain Square, but Queen City Square Phase II will do very nicely.
  10. I guess what I meant was a NEW skyscraper that defined the skyline
  11. Can anyone tell me why it has taken so long for Cincinnati to build a signature building? I can guess two reasons: (1)- the extreme conservative nature of the local business community; and (2)- the fact that unlike Indy, Columbus, Charlotte, Nashnville, Cincinnati already had a good stock of office space decades ago...Jack
  12. I am simply someone who used to live in Norwood years ago, and I still love the city. i now live in Tipp City, Ohio. Cincinnati surely has as much going for as Indianapolis, Columbus and Nashville! Rob Alpern said vie e-mail that they were agressively trying to pre-lease the tower, and were optimistic about construction next year. I would think that pre-leasing must be going fairly well, or they would not say the structure could be taller than originally planned...Jack
  13. Hi, I am Jack , and I am extremely interested in the development of Queen City Square Phase II. I hope to have more to say in the near future.
