  1. Yeah, I got those numbers from mapmyrun.com(the best website ever created for runners), which uses the Google Earth program. Maybe it is inaccurate, but I still think the difference between 3rd and 5th street is significant. That is a fairly steep hill. Maybe, steep enough to negate the difference in height between the Carew and QCSII.
  2. I dont get why people on this board are so down on the Ascent. I think it does alot for the Covington skyline and the fact that it is set back a block from the riverfront gives downtown Covington some depth. I like that is looks totally different depending upon what angle you are looking at it. Check it out next time you are heading south on the Brent Spence. From that vantage point you can really get a good view of the extreme lines of the building.
  3. ^ I was thinking the same thing. The the north side of 3rd and sycamore is about 475 ft. above sea level and 5th and vine is about 575 ft. above sea level. So from a distance it QCS may not look as tall as the Carew.
  4. The prices quoted in the article have to be wrong. A 3700 sq.ft. condo in The Edge is listed at about $1.3 million. How can you offer the same sized unit in this building for $400k? Maybe, The Edge is just a nicer building in a nicer area (although I personally prefer the SW side of the CBD) but that cant account for a $900k difference in asking price. I hope I am wrong. If I am I will be the first to make an offer.
  5. According to the auditor website each floor is 47x80 (3760sq.ft.) $400k for a 3760sq.ft. condo is a bargain.
  6. Lets look at the bright side. Even if Phase I and Phase II yield bland, unoriginal buildings I think the finished project will look great because there are already enough interesting buildings and structures in the Banks neighborhood. Paul Brown Stadium, the Freedom Center and the Roebling Bridge, and (to a lesser extent) GABP all look fantastic. There really isnt that much of a need for more signature buildings in that area. I am hoping for a couple more knockout buildings in Phase I & II, but I dont think they are necessary.
  7. Are you talking about the narrow corridor directly south of US Bank Arena and the Ball Park? One thing they could do to dress it up is tear down the ugly concrete stairway and pedestrian bride that hangs above Merhing Way and replace it with a smaller bridge that doesnt shade the whole block. But that might be more trouble than its worth. This corridor is pretty small and I dont think it detracts that much from the parks to have one block that isnt lined with trees and green space.
  8. Hey everyone- I have been reading the site for a while but havent posted until now. Anyway, I was under the impression that the plan to build the deck over Ft. Washington Way had been scrapped. Does this mean that the plan is back on?
