  2. That would be great news. They need to start building a stadium soon if they want it to be ready for the Spring 2026 NWSL team. I wonder what comes first - an announcement from the league or do they just build anyway? Anyone have a time frame on how long it would take to build a 12500 seat stadium.

  5. If by any chance Corna's Hexatron gets some consideration, How would we get a casino in the lake. This probably would require the Jack to move to the lake, because the state law allows only 1 casino with a possibility of some nearby extension ( as was discussed a decade ago with phase 2). Is there any way around that would allow the Jack to remain where it is and put a 2nd casino in the lake?

  9. This would be nice. Hopedully Bob Corna gets to sell his idea to the Haslams and the city. https://fox8.com/news/a-covered-stadium-option-for-the-browns-on-the-lakefront-what-we-know/
  10. Absolutely Correct, somebody has to be first. Heck, maybe Jimmy gets a change of heart and he fulfills that '90's vision with a domed stadium on the post office parcel.
  11. I could be wrong and please let me know if i am wrong - but i think i read somewhere that the 133 Million for a training complex includes a NWSL Expansion franchise fee of somewhere around 53 million, so the training complex could be 80 million
  12. KJP - If this stadium is still at the same spot as your November 2022 article - then exactly where is the training site?
  13. Geez I am truly disappointed. All this time i thought that Jimmy turned his back on Cleveland. I liked jimmy's Vision. We have an opportunity to turn our lakefront into a world class lakefront. I did nor realize that it is Bibb that is putting the kabosh on everything. Our Social Equity lakefront will be run by homeless, gangsters and drug addicts. We already get a bad rap nationally & locally that downtown is unsafe. This Social Equity lakefront will just fuel some more bad reputation. Way to go mayor. Now we know where you stand.

  15. If the State gives the Browns 600m then they would have to give the same amount to the bengals
  16. These suburbanites calling in are real idiots. They must have forgotten how miserable it was to get into and out of the Richfield Coliseum on those one lane icy back roads with no where to go before/after a game. Rte 237 in Brook Park will be gridlock on game days. Good luck to all the travelers who need to get to Hopkins on game day. I hope Brook Park never happens. I do not see us getting a superbowl or final 4 even if we get the dome in brook park. Who are we kidding? They will always find a reason to turn us down such as not enough hotels in the area or not enough hotels in the immediate area or not enough direct flights in/out of cleveland. Browns please stay downtown.
  17. Hopefully the lakefront is more fantastic than the multiple iterations of lakefront planning since mayor jane Campbell started lakefront development planning in early 1980's
  18. I am assuming you are talking about the new lakefront TIF that was recently created or are you talking about your traditional TIF. If it is the new lakefront TIF that was created recently - then that would apply only to the downtown stadium

I don't buy that. Then why is Cincinnati mentioned. Distance between Cincinnati and Columbus is 107 miles. Cincinnati has an old arena ( Us Bank arena ) ( Not NHL ready. Cincinnati has 6600 per game fan base. Distance between Columbus an Cleveland is 143 miles. Cleveland has an NHL arena and a 10300 per game fan base. So why is Cincy considered and Cleve not.

The Cleveland Monsters have the BEST ATTENDANCE in all of minor league hockey at 10300 per game, Yet they are NEVER mentioned or considered for NHL relocation or expansion. Salt Lake City Utah gets the relocated Arizona Coyotes yet their ECHL Utah Grizzles draw 6000 per game. Other Cities mentioned for future expansion are Atlanta ( twice failed NHL ). The ECHL Atlanta Gladiators draw 4100 per game. Other cities considered are Houston, Kansas City, Cincinnati, Quebec, & Toronto. Currently Houston does not have minor league Hockey. The ECHL Kansas City Mavericks draw 3700 per game, ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones draw 6600 per game, Quebec ( Failed NHL) has a team in the QMJHL - I do not have attendance figures) and Finally Toronto/ Hamilton. The AHL Toronto Marlies draw 5800 per game and Hamilton does not have a minor league team or the Junior OHL. As you can see Cleveland has a far superior built-in fan base than any of the other cities mentioned YET Receives no mention or NO consideration. WHY the Hate on Cleveland? OR maybe ownership here ( Dan Gilbert ) is not interested in bringing in the NHL here to compete with the Cavaliers.
