Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
I have been asking that same question. They started construction in September and everytime someone asked when we will see steel rising everyone said things like soon or there is are so many other things to do first. Well, it is almost 5 months and still no one sees any structural steel rising.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
All of a sudden this reminds me of the out of state ownership that purchased the Huntington 925 Building. They said they had financing all but wrapped up when the purchased the building and a few years later they receive the 25 million tax credit and work has yet to start. Now they are looking for additional investors.

Cleveland: Campus District
Non-Students leasing at The Edge. At The Edge, a student housing development that opened last July at 1750 Euclid Ave., there was a surprising benefit from strong demand for one-bedrooms. Constance Campbell, regional manager of Peak Campus Management, said the company leased several apartments to young professionals working downtown because so few were available in the market. She said she could not say how many non-students are in the building because of federal fair housing laws. She declined to disclose specific leasing levels but said they are beyond expectation.

Cleveland: Downtown: Millennia's Garfield Bldg & HQ Developments
Leasing update at The Garfield. At Cleveland-based Millennia Co.'s The Garfield, 1965 E. Sixth St., 40 suites were listed Tuesday, Jan. 9, as available, out of 123 suites that hit the market last fall after a $30 million conversion to apartments from offices. Millennia owner Frank Sinito, through his assistant, declined to comment on the project or the downtown market.

Cleveland: Worthington Yards (Warehouse District)
Leasing is brisk at worthington Yards. Meantime, an affiliate of Independence-based Dalad Group opened Worthington Yards, 725 Johnson Court, Oct. 1 in the Warehouse District. Greg Deming, property manager, said he's been surprised by the number of people relocating to Cleveland for new jobs this winter and believes it's the busiest of the last four. "Usually, December through February are slow," Deming said. "I've never seen it like this. We'll be filled by springtime." He said 70 suites are leased — 60 occupied — and 38 remain to be filled.

Cleveland: Downtown: Standard Building
Leasing started Jan 1 at the Standard Building. For example, the $60 million The Standard apartments opened Jan. 4 at 99 W. St. Clair Ave. in downtown Cleveland, marking suburban-based Weston Inc.'s entry into the city's apartment market from the office and industrial segments. That meant 277 apartments and four penthouses all hit the market on one day. However, that doesn't mean things there are quiet. "The phone is ringing. We are busy," said Julie Colby, manager of The Standard, which is suspending the typical $150 application fee as it opens. The day the doors opened, tenants moved into 25 suites, and another 30 are rented. With match day, when hospitals name their new residents, and the launch of internships, she expects to be busy through April and feels the building will lease quickly. Rents are upward of $1,350 for a one-bedroom and $2,850 for two bedrooms. Four top-floor penthouses will rent for a minimum of $5,000 and will be customizable, she said.

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
It could be hidden in back. This may be one of those great chances for a public/private partnership--a court tower with rental space included in the tower. In back of what?

Cleveland: One University Circle
Studebaker President Paul Hoffman wrote in 1939 that if they are to sell cars to the huge untapped city populations and for existing car owners to have full use of their cars, then cities have to be "remade." He said the reason is because it's so difficult to use cars and especially to park them. If cities densify, it usually makes parking and driving more difficult. But that also reduces the need for government-funded infrastructure. To bring this back to One University Circle, it's at the geographic center of everything in/near University Circle/Cleveland Clinic. University Circle is now the fastest growing job center in Ohio, becoming the fourth-largest employment node in the state. It grew from 22,000 jobs in 2002 to more than 61,000 in 2015 (a number that is surely higher today). Just that 39,000-job increase is a growth rate of 177 percent. Meanwhile downtown Cleveland has lost 16 percent of its jobs in the same period. So if we want this district to grow without drowning in vehicular traffic (at least until we get our act together on substantially funding transit), then placing more residential units at the geographic center of this economic powerhouse is essential. The site of One University Circle and Circle Square/UC3 is at the geographic center. And they're next to terrific greenspaces and near existing high-capacity transit, with the Thrive 105-93 transit corridor now in planning too. Is the Cleveland Clinic Employment Statistic under University Circle or Under Midtown? If it is under Midtown then where did they pick-up 39,000 jobs?

I wish that the condo tower was completed as originally planned. I assume that the Zaremba Bros do not have control of the Tower Ownership.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
Channel 19 has it wrong, this is not the "first". For many, many years there was a Dunkin' Donuts on Euclid Avenue in one of the Arcades. I think it is currently the Yum Yum's space on 512 Euclid. If you look at it closely it still maintains most of the Dunkin' Donuts look/layout. Having said that, this new place looks to be a "full-service" location which is certainly welcome in the area. Does anyone know what was in this space prior to Dunkin donuts?

Hopefully we get the 2022 game. It would be the NBA's 75th All-Star Game. We had the NBA's 50th All-Star game in 1997. http://fox8.com/2017/12/13/indianapolis-not-cleveland-gets-2021-nba-all-star-game/
