Today Nielsen uses PPM or portable people meters that individuals wear at all times and automatically detect the signal of a particular TV program. Yep. They are embracing the Buzzfeed mentality. Things like the article about Tamir's dad get the attention, but there are tons of other examples. For example, little things like taking Terry Pluto's regular Sunday column and splitting it into 3 separate articles, make their motives so transparent. Sacrifice journalistic integrity and the reader experience for a minimal gain in the short term. Problem is they don't seem to realize the long-term implications behind these moves.
