  1. ^I was one of the onlookers...i stood and watched for about 10 minutes...I am amazed that they can do this whole violent process without damaging anything around it...
  2. yea...I've seen the "rebar" guy too in front of the CAC on Euclid...unbelievable the lengths some of these guys go to... ....another common ploy that they try is when they see you stop and intend to start parallel parking and they scramble to offer you "assistance", b/c obviously you need it, right? Once done parking they hang stand thisclose to your drivers side door, waiting for you to come out so that they can collect some kind of fee that is rightfully theirs...never works on me, but it must on some or else they wouldn't keep doing it...
  3. how sad, i just received a response from her no less than 3 days ago re: the RTA budget crisis....
  4. This morning there was a fire on the 13th floor and a man tragically died as a result. Early indications are that he left food on to cook and fell asleep. IIRC sprinklers are only found in certain areas of the building, does anyone know if this is common? As a residential apartment building, shouldn't there be some kind of law that mandates sprinklers within each unit? Or was this building old enough that it was grandfathered in, predating any sort of legislation? Here is the article from cleveland.com http://blog.cleveland.com/plaindealer/2008/08/clevealand_man_dies_in_downtow.html Cleveland man dies in downtown apartment fire Posted by Donna J. Miller August 19, 2008 08:01AM Categories: Breaking News Marvin Fong/The Plain DealerCleveland firefighters responded to an apartment fire on the 13th floor at Reserve Square early today. One man died. CLEVELAND -- A man died this morning in his apartment on the 13th floor of Reserve Square downtown, where a fire started about 6:15 a.m. Assistant Fire Chief Brent Collins said the fire started in the kitchen. It appeared that the man had been cooking and fell asleep in his bedroom, where firefighters found him, Collins said. "He tried to get out, but didn't make it," Collins said. The building was evacuated and no one else was injured, but a broken pipe flooded the WOIO Channel 19 offices, knocking them off the air for a short time. The man's name won't be released until his family is notified.
  5. i have my fantasy draft coming up...what is the inside word on Ocho Cinco's shoulder?
  6. hope DA is ok...i wouldn't play him for the rest of preseason just as a precaution. Sames goes for Cribbs! silver lining: if you take away the long return, the fumble return for a TD, blocked punt, and the careless penalties resulting in sh*tty field position, the defense didn't totally lose their collective jock. although manning made our corners look very vulnerable...

  8. thanks for the panoramic -ingrate
  9. there is a home remodeling thread started by MTS...may be more pertinent to answer your question...you should try craigslist under "skilled services offered"...just be sure to find someone that has legitimate references
  10. There is a chance too that someone worthwhile will become available as teams cut down toward opening day, and Savage is a good talent evaluator..i'd look to the deeper corner teams in the league (Oakland/Philly/Dallas/San Diego)

If Ferry can now turn the Snow/Wally expiring contracts into a young "big", he should be up for exec of the year IMO
  12. I'm hoping Ty Law lowers his asking price and the Browns sign him...he's a perfect fit for our team, but just wants too much $$$. Savage should ask McGinest/Crennel and some of his other former teammates to talk to him and work somethnig out!
  13. Anyone else notice the lights are on inside the rotunda? It looks way cool. I've never seen the inside of that place, I'd kill to be able to walk around even briefly.

Can anyone recall the last time the PD was cited as source that broke a Cleveland sports-related news story? Being the hometown paper, shouldn't they have some connections that would allow for this to occasionally occur?

My hopes are that the coming onset of heating oil, an added expense you really can't avoid, will offset any return to the aforementioned "equilibrium for unfettered driving".
  16. awww...where are the 2-3 pic composite panoramic shots? those are way cool and give great persepctive
  17. ptbnl could be pedroia according to foxsports.com
  18. I have not been, but plan on going at some point. I travel across PA on business, so I'm hoping one of these days I can stop. It is crazy to think that my ONE grandfather (RIP) was born a mere 40 years after this conflict ended.

  20. i went once right after it opened and again maybe a month or so ago, and saw no improvement. i was hoping the first visit's issues could be written off as opening wrinkles that still needed to be ironed out but sadly, no. the second time i went, they once again pretty much ignored us when we sat down. even when i went over to the bar area it took them forever just to address my presence. when they did it was more or less an attitude like they were doing me a favor. the drinks were not all at that strong either despite the high prices...and the food although very good, was too small portioned for what we had to fork over 9ut of wallets. the stone oven pizza's especially are tiny, i could probably throw back 3 of these myself.... i wish this place would improve their customer service, adjust the pricing a bit, b/c i too want it to succeed very badly, the west bank NEEDS this!
  21. no way?! they destroyed the slide projector?
  22. i have this wood table that I am trying to paint/stain to match the surroundings, but there is definitely some type of lacquer covering it. Do I need to sand this off first before applying the Minwax, if so, what grade sand paper should I be using? Any help would be appreciated!
  23. urbanohio.com...? and with 2,364 subleasers, we each will have approx. 3 hours and 42 minutes to enjoy it per year.
  24. well at last count there were 2364 urbanohio members, so if we all chip in $423.01, it's all ours! :)
