  1. Ideally, I'd love to be able to walk to work! So I think that really limits my options to start with, if nothing makes sense, I can expand out from there I suppose...
  2. ^thanks guys...this would not be an easy decision, but the offer may simply be too good to turn down
  3. are there any downtown residential rental options for around $700-$800/mo? everything seems to be condo-related...
  4. ^much appreciated! from what i've found so far from my own limited research (Google/Craigslist/forent.com/etc) haven't produced the information I'm looking for...
  5. thank you rider :)

This thread never really represented both sides of the peak oil argument, instead it has been relegated primarily to the doomsday scenario stance.
  7. MTS - Checking the domestic locations of "W"'s...Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, LA, New Orleans, New York, San Diego, San Fran, and Seattle...all seem to suggest much larger tourist/business destinations...I love the Cleve as much as the next, but do we really belong in the above list?
  8. I might end up taking a job in the Arena District. Part of my decision will rely on the answers to some of the question, are there good residential options nearby? I think at this point I still would want to rent, at least for a year, until I am more firmly established in the market. What good options are there? I've read up on a number of condos going up, but haven't found much on rental units. Thanks!
  9. why? what were you hoping for? A "W"?

no way...there will be better deals out there...patience young jedis
  13. yeah...why not? run the tracks right ON route 8....I know it is a state route, but that stretch (chagrin to emery) lacks anything of particular significance and wouldn't be that difficult of a proposition to argue for a scaling back. Route 8 there is currently 5 or 6 lanes wide. It could very easily be scaled back to accommodate transit running down the center as there is very little, if any, traffic these days. This area would then be ripe for TOD, which some smart developer could sweep in, buy up all the current rent-to-own/thrift/paydaylending stores on the cheap and make a killing....
  14. maybe not...there are plans in the works to re-arrange that entire clusterf*ck of an intersection of chagrin/warrensville...why not incorporate the blue line extention at the same time? Also, talk to Thistledown, maybe they'd throw some cash that way, it couldn't hurt ....
  15. yeah Carroll can for sure...i like Asdrubal...he will hit, keep in mind that most players his age are in single A ball!! I'll take his .200 average now based on the d he brings...i'm convinced our team ERA is at least half a run lower b/c of him...
  16. good to see the bats come out last night. hopefully it has more to do with tribe hitters than texas pitching, we'll see...huge game from Francisco...this guy has cemented a spot in the lineup for sure...sooner or later Tribe is going to have to make a move with one of their OFers: Choo/Dellucci/Francisco/Gutierrez; only enough room for 3 with Sizemore holding down CF for the foreseeable future. I don't see how the tribe can justify holding onto 5 OFers. I'd liek to see them move Dellucci, but that contract will be a problem, based on ABs over the last few games, it would appear Gutierrez is the odd man out. Lineup I'd like to see: Sizemore CF Choo LF Francisco RF Martinez CA Garko 1B Peralta 3B Dellucci DH AsCab SS Carroll / Barfield 2B
  17. I work on this type of stuff everyday. Our clients spend a lot of money to make their websites "search-engine friendly" via search engine optimization or SEO, which varies from the serach engine marketing, or SEM, which is based largely upon how much one is willing to pay "per click" on a set of targeted keywords. The organic, or non-paid, listings on Google/Yahoo/MSN/etc are all determined by a wide range of SEO criteria. Google's (and any search engine's) main objective is to deliver sites that are the most relevant to the query performed. Without going into too much detail, to be "search-engine friendly", a site should be, easily navigable, feature meta-tags that highlight the most pertinent topics within the website, a strong home/landing page that indexes all of the site's content, have information organized logically (think Wikipedia), link-building with other relevant sites, have limited flash pages/rich media (which can act as a wall to search engine spiders), and most of all high traffic. There is obviously A LOT more that goes into it and varies by search engine, Google's constantly evolving search algorithm is somewhat of a closely-guarded secret and forms the basis for determining search rankings.
  18. the last time the team hit this poorly was 1971...a .234 team batting average!!
  19. wow, that was going to be tough even the great Indians teams of the 90's only managed 1,000 runs once, 1999. In fact, that is the only time it happened in club history.
  20. i think we've ventured way off topic
  21. the chart is from a Brookings Institute study from a few years back..i tried to find out what their definition of "downtown" was, but couldn't find anything definitive...
  22. A 20k+ downtown population would place in some pretty heady company on a national level... sorry I don't know how to post an entire PDF file...??
  23. wow how long ago was this picture taken, weird to see Euclid still intact....
  24. wow...this must have been a very time consuming task...hope it reaps rewards
  25. True, plus I am willing to bet the Huntingdon building will be switched to mixed use at some point...once the larger tenants leave, it will be half vacant...no telling how many more people this could hold...
