  1. wow, that is one fugly building. is that the chateau d'if?
  2. Wow, this is really great news! Considering the current economic conditions the country finds itself, for Cleveland to have a 90%+ downtown Class A occupancy rate is nothing short of amazing. If this sort of current momentum can be maintained through even an anticipated 2008 recession, could we see all 3 major projects (Wolstein's East Bank / Zaremba's Warehouse Master Plan /Jacob's Public Square Tower) be pushed through more aggressively and make "major" developmental strides in the coming year?
  3. i don't think it is that comical at all. it points to a gross failure in leadership in government on both a state and local level.
  4. and then extent it into the clinic/UH/Case area
  5. a positive news story from the PD?! <rubbing eyes in disbelief>

Federal Courthouse - i'm a sucker for anything that redefines the cleveland skyline; plus i like the design Stonebridge - type of development that will spawn growth around it East 4th - ditto

    bodymore murdaland - the wire
  8. nice job putting it into proper context
  9. any chance they can fund this from a regional tax base? half a billion from just the city of cleveland, is that even possible?
  10. not talking about it won't make it any less true.

i went to crocker park the day after thanksgiving with some friends and I was surprised at how dead it was. perhaps the cache has already worn off. i also wonder just how many people live at crocker park. at night i don't see too many windows lit up above the stores. why anyone would want to live there is beyond me...
  12. WHAT DID I DO? w28th's response was insulting
  13. well i checked in vegas and the only thing i could find in vegas was the line on whether or not w28th is a jerk...that was right at 100%
  14. wow, so what does his imply? is this the first step in actually breaking ground on this project? what are the odds that this actually happens? 25%? 50%?
  15. let's not lose sight of the big picture! the fact anything is being done to the Dollar Bank building is a blessing. next to the marcel bruer building, it is the city's biggest eye sore
  16. i undertand where you are coming from, Pope. As a frequent purveyor of downtown night spots, many bars try and do the "ol' switcheroo" where they substitute quality high end spirits with that of a lesser sort. Dive Bar does this a lot, as does Paninis.
  17. sad...is there any hope for toledo?
  18. fingers crossed this project takes off and we see additional stages come on board...to me this project is a much riskier proposition than anything in the WHD or the flats...if Cleveland is going to have a true downtown renaissance, it will have to be spurred by successful development on all sides
  19. how many floors up will this be?
  20. trade lee and marte, along with maybe a crowe for jason bay. he is good friends with sizemore and would like to play in cleveland. huntington (pitt GM) former indians assistant GM, would do it... 2008 lineup: sizemore cabrera martinez hafner bay garko peralta guttierez blake
  21. or maybe they found someone that wnats to move in the 5th floor immediately and they are furnishing it....
  22. honestly though...how do you guys think they will or can combat the pan handlers that seem to be all over this area? what do they do in the warehouse district? it doesn't seem to be as big of an issue over there from what i've heard...
  23. pope...i am a big fan/supporter of cleveland...but i'm also a realist. i moved here for that very reason...just very disappointed with the living conditions in my current establishment and some of the surrounding environment
  24. i live in reserve square and find it funny that they think of the area as "quiet" and "elegant"...when i hear the police/ambulance sirens blaring at all hours of the day or see a homeless man digging through a sand bucket of cigarette butts, neither terms come to mind....
