Cleveland: Marketing the City
Positively Cleveland IS in the midst of a new branding campaign for Cleveland. It just launched in April and targets contiguous markets and those individuals likely to make a weekend trip into the city. This brand launch may not be evident to all those here since the media is targeted to outside of our market.

Cleveland: Downtown: Office Tower & Ferrari Showroom
^ my thoughts here are the same reason the video board is located sheer it is. This parcel of land is sort of the welcome mat to the city and is potentially much more visible and could be more easily seen from 90 and points South.

Cleveland: Downtown: Office Tower & Ferrari Showroom
according to this page, there are 38 Ferrari dealers in the US, including one in Columbus http://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/car-dealers/all-ferrari-dealerships/ EDIT: Also that location in Columbus followss a business model very similar to the one Bernie Moreno follows here in Cleveland

Moving to downtown Cleveland
^me too. Had my car broken into and window shattered for a few days before anyone even bothered to call me. At the time I lived/worked downtown so there would be long periods of time when I wouldn't use my car

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Isn't the true value of the hub status a tad inflated and mostly an appearance thing? I am no expert here so please correct me if I am wrong, but weren't most the those 100 flights simply involving people connecting through, so essentially the entire "impact" of those travelers would be their time spent going from one gate to another in Concourse D?

Cleveland: Downtown Retail Needs
Not sure I agree with this logic. I am much more apt to make several retail purchases near to where I reside versus work. Maybe it is just me but I never have time during a work day to shop and then I typically go straight home.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
In fairness, MMGY, the KC firm, only does this one thing. Work with CVB across the country, they went with the experts on doing this sort of thing, which is hard to fault them for... Keep in mind that while they are working with this branding firm, a ton of other local agencies/firms are handling other aspects of this brand campaign activation, from the PR, social media, advertising, etc elements.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
When they excavate downtown like this I often wonder if they ever come across anything interesting from the dig site, or even bother looking closely. You would think they'd have a high probability of finding something given the location and high level of traffic over the years.

^interesting. I wonder what implications this has on the marketing side if things. From what I understand the two are closely wrapped together into the overall agreement/sponsorship.

Cleveland: 2014 Gay Games IX News & Discussion
As for not running TV spots in other markets during the Olympics, it could have been due to limited or no inventory, or more likely, a budgetary concern. I have worked on some of these campaigns from a marketing standpoint, Senior Games for one, and I know we are typically dealing with limited budgets. More often what we attempt to do on their behalf is orchestrate some sort of barter or trade agreement, such as x amount of tickets/event signage for y amount of media exposure, etc. Either way they more than likely don't have the money to do a full blown ad blitz.
