He was the PF from Arizona a third of the fan base wanted us to take #1 over Irving back in the 2011 draft. There were rumors that he was Dan Gilbert's guy, but Grant picked Irving anyway (thankfully). He turned into a journeyman, never living up to the hype. We now have on our roster the 1, 2, and 4 picks from the 2011 draft.
  2. I think the bigger question is why is this project so desperate for financing that discussion of funding from the schools is even on the table. This seems like more of the same with Stark and his proposals downtown. Each and every time, he seems to reach too high and it all falls apart for one reason or another.
  3. Do you know that it is NOT getting 'top financing priority' from the City? I am not quite sure what that means, but it certainly can't mean that ALL other investment ideas, such as investment in infrastructure and schools, get scrapped until Stark gets whatever he wants from the City.
  4. I'm taking this as meaning he was able to secure SOME private financing and wants the City to step in and fill the financing gap with massive public subsidies..... probably more than what was originally envisioned.
  5. Am I the only one who is not a huge fan of Mike Weber?

Last year we had the El Nino effect. This year has definitely been mild, but not as mild as last year.

If I drank a lot without eating dinner, I would have to take a piss every 30 mins (after 'breaking the seal') at a minimum.

Here's a tip for men that someone gave me a few years ago. Men often mistake thirst for hunger. When you have a craving to eat something outside of your regular meals, drink a glass of water and wait 5-10 mins. If you are still hungry, then go ahead and eat something. But you may find that a lot of times that does the trick.

A show my sister's boyfriend has been working on (he's a writer) aired last night on CW. Riverdale. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but felt obligated to watch. It was actually pretty decent. http://www.cleveland.com/tv-blog/index.ssf/2017/01/riverdale_is_dark_and_steamy_take_on_archie_and_friends.html That's a negative Ghost Rider
  10. ^The geographic location is near ideal for this mid summer game. Almost the opposite of college bowl games and Super Bowls, no one wants to go to Texas or Arizona or Florida in July.

They've gone through the same funk around the same time each of the past two seasons. I'm not overly worried. But I do think they are dearly missing Delly and those momentum shifting hustle plays he would make during close games. If they add anyone else, it better be a defender.
  12. All-Star game 2019?

^perhaps the more pertinent question is which ones SHOULD have been selected at #1. Brady, Rodgers, and Big Ben, for sure.

^I think Kizer and Watson have higher ceilings than either of the two QBs in the conversation for #1 last year. I'd take a swing. We can go BPA at 12 and still get a helluva good player. There's no excuses this year. They have their pick of the litter. Time to earn your salary and prove your worth, front office

Wait...is the average woman really only 5'-4" I must surround myself with tall women... Yes, that the average height for women in the US. Men are somewhere around 5"9
  16. ^Payday lenders, cell phone providers, fast food chains (the types you would find in a mall food court), drive through liquor stores, salons and barber shops, and Dollar General. Basically, the types of businesses which thrive in the ghetto.
  17. In honor of MY MAN, Marshon Lattimore, who just declared for the NFL draft and is likely to go in the 1st round, if not the Top 10, I am reposting this conversation here. Where you at Clefan98[/member] ?? :-P :-D
  18. This building is coming down now. Such a shame, but there really wasn't much hope. Several failed attempts at a re-use.

Man. It's really hard to argue Watson is not worth taking a swing on at #1

^Several reasons. Teams sometimes resort to the nickel more often because they need to when their base defense can't get pressure on the QB. More importantly to me is that the 4-3 scheme opens up more options for personnel. Aaron Donald, for instance, is a waste of talent in a 3-4. Same for Gino Atkins. Same for Jevon Kearse and Warren Sapp (in their primes). Pass rush DE's who thrive with their hands in the dirt and don't have cover skills can't play in a 3-4. DTs who love to shoot gaps and create a mess in the backfield are relegated to more diminished roles in the 3-4.

I'm just hoping he returns us to a 4-3. I've never liked the 3-4. It limits the types of defensive prospects you can even consider drafting. Garrett is probably a good example. His hand needs to be in the dirt at the snap. I was skeptical as to what his position would be in a 3-4 scheme. Every player who plays in a 3-4 can play in a 4-3, but not vice-versa.
  22. Perhaps. But that is not the reason for the recent success of outdoor malls. It's the anchors which make or break shopping centers. Big box stores that attach to outdoor malls are doing much better than department stores which attach to indoor malls. This is the trend virtually everywhere.

Interesting. He's been on some good defensive teams over that timeframe - Chicago and Atlanta. I'm sure he understands the concepts of team defense. I was more worried about his individual, on the ball defense.

Liggins will continue to start until JR gets healthy. Depending on how you define catch-n-shoot, I disagree. He has one of the best (if not the best in NBA history) pull up three point shots in transition. He also moves very well without the ball in the half court, coming off screens a la Ray Allen. Point being, his job hopefully won't be limited to standing in a corner and waiting for the ball to swing his way. Any combo of Smith/Korver, Smith/Frye, Korver/Frye on the court at the same time is going to create massive driving lanes to the basket for LbJ and Ky.
