  1. EDIT - brainfart
  2. I get such a skewed view of Charlotte because you can easily walk to two grocery stores (maybe more) from my dad's house in Dilworth.
  3. Still lead by 50,000 people yet Franklin get's nearly 5x the money allotted in the latest capitol improvements budget. Sigh.....

Great shot by Dion, especially considering he was played in excess of 80 minutes these past two nights. But Delly gets the game ball.

The lineup at WKNR seems to just keep going downhill. I wish I could get into Browns Daily, but Vic is just so bland and obviously a cheerleader.....not a very entertaining combo. I think they need a local guy in that chair in Berea. They have Brinda doing Cavs post games and even he hates the show. RBS is drifting farther away from sports talk. Give it another 5 years and it'll be the down the dial version of what the Triv show has become. I honestly don't enjoy any of the current shows

Yeah. That's kind of the point

Of course they did, the money is to be spent for building repairs and maintenance.... I think they have a "bigger picture" rationale for supporting the sin tax. But I do agree with you two that consumption taxes disproportionately affect the poor and benefit the wealthy. I am voting yes for the practical reasons stated above. Another practical consideration is that tobacco and alchohol taxes are going to increase (or at least restored to the same levels they are with the sin tax) regardless of whether we direct those funds to stadiums repairs or to the general fund. It's low hanging fruit which is easy to pass off to the voters.... especially considering the future medical costs caused by those products which all too often gets passed on to the general population. Either way, whether a sin tax is used to earmark the funds or whether the obligations need to come out of the general fund in the happenstance the sin tax is rejected, the money will get where it is inevitably heading.
  8. ^I would've presumed 'gels' was the verb to use. I've learned something new today.
  9. I think it is a great fit for the space. I always get confused...... is Buffalo Wild Wings and what we used to call BW3's (i.e. the place that used to be above the old movie theatre at Euclid Hts/Coventry) the same restaraunt/bar?
  10. You would need a very young and vulnerable looking 'recruit'.... and even then, you would have to get 'lucky'. In years and years of walking around downtown tapping away at my cellphone, I've never felt the slightest bit threatened or approached in any way Killing the secondary market value is the much more cost effective and practical deterrent method

I agree PQ's versatility is a plus..... but I thought I heard/read that he graded out much better at G and that is clearly his better position. Schwartz on the other hand played much better at T when he didn't have Cousins lining up next to him
  12. I think we can fairly assume that a group of people beating a minor to a pulp and putting him in ICU is "unacceptable" to everyone. What's becoming increasingly unacceptable to me is how the cell phone companies are making out better than thee thieves in these incidents. It can't be that hard to build in some kind of remote kill-switch on the phones which would essentially make them worthless if stolen.

Being a witness doesn't automatically DQ an attorney from working the case. But if he anticipates being called to testify about a disputed issue of fact, then it would DQ him.
  14. Signing Campbell doesn't preclude you from drafting a young QB. It's not unusual to have two backups..... one a solid veteran and another a young project.

^Are there any other parts of the video from the suburbs?
  16. But it got plenty of run on here and by the news stations, as well as plenty of national coverage....... and even the vet was dismayed at the coverage it did get. I think you are making an incorrect assumption. Were the assailants charged with a hate crime? I know one of the girls who was filming it allegedly yelled something which could be considered racial, but that doesn't mean it was a 'hate crime'..... i.e. motivated by race. Just because the combatants were of a different race does not mean that the crime was a hate crime. Regardless, the grown vet jogged away from that incident. This kid is (or at least was) in ICU.
  17. I'm surprised no mention of this horrific beating right on the edge of downtown.... especially considering all the media attention and discussion generated from the other incident (discussed above) with the veteran that resulted in no significant injuries. http://fox8.com/2014/03/19/father-thanks-good-samaritan-for-helping-son-after-bus-stop-beating/
  18. You can do a lot worse than Jason Campbell as your backup QB. FWIW, he had some of his best years playing for Hue Jackson in Oakland.

It really seems that this new regime is all about game film, not workouts, interviews, etc. But I think the biggest inference to be made by their absense is confirmation of the rumor that Carr is really their guy at QB. They seem to have written off the others. As for Mack, who wouldn't love that guy? Here's me gushing about him back in August after he dominated OSU and note that I predicted he would be a top 5 pick at that point.....

Josh Gordon's new back tatoo can be seen here http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/josh-gordon-s-back-tattoo-is-a-work-of-art--in-some-sense-115307970.html As usual, with Yeehaw (errr.... I mean Yahoo) articles, DO NOT read the comments sections unless you truly want to know how regressive, backwoodsy this Country truly is....

I love Brian Hoyer's heart and dedication..... but, if I was forced to bet, my money would be on him being more Charlie Frye/Kelly Holcombe than Bernie Kosar.

Baggy seat/waist and skinny legs on pants. I think this is my watershed moment in life when "I just don't get kids these days." I get the skinny jeans..... I don't agree that men should wear skinny jeans (or capris)..... but I get it. This new look has me dumbfounded how anyone could possibly think that looks good.

If cost is an issue, then why not just require everyone to show up in one a few select major cities in the State? For instance, we can having five precincts - Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, Cincy, and Marrieta. That would dramatically cut down on costs. We should do away with mail-in ballots as well. No need to waste the paper or postage. Would the Republicans go for that? Sure, it might place an extra burden on rural folk who would have to drive in from a distance, but it would save us money and the prospect of voter fraud, which is probably most easily perpetrated at these rural voting locations where no watchdog groups sit at the tables with checklists, could be minimized.
  24. Do people still steal car stereos? I thought the secondary market on those was nearly dead. I'd think that most people who break into cars thesedays are looking for ipads, ipods, laptops, cell phones, etc. That depends on what type of lock you use. An 8mm threaded wire chain can be cut fairly easy with a pair of snips and could be done rather quickly without raising any suspicion. A U-lock would require much more effort. I don't have anywhere good to mount a U-lock on my bike given my other add-ons, so I use a kevlar lock, which I consider to be better than the threaded wire. At the same thickness it is more difficult to cut. One mistake I saw somebody do was put the U-lock around the wheel and not the frame..... at least that is what I assume happened because all that was left that I saw was the U-lock and the wheel (which had one of those quick release latches on it).

One can list and harp on a multitude of reasons for or against voting restrictions. It's all colored bubbles. It boils down to, as noted above, a desire on one side to make it as difficult and burdensome to vote as possible without violating any overriding law and a desire on the other side to do the exact opposite within the bounds of the law, all because a more burdensome system favors the GOP and a less burdensome system favors the democrats. There's really nothing more to it than that and, from a personal perspective for you and I, it comes down to which system is more in line with American values. It is a no-brainer to me. Not even close.
