  1. ^Agreed. It it is a one of those cheesy re-makes with stars from the teeny-bop generation (a la 21 Jump Street), then don't try and fool us with calling it "Ghostbusters 3". It's not like Murray, Akroyd, Hudson, Moranis, and whoever that guy is who played Egor are terribly busy at the moment.
  2. ^^I suspect MSU will be ranked if/when we play them in the BIG title game. OSU was very fortunate Oregon made it a game in the fourth quarter. A blowout of the #2 team in the country would have given Stanford a really good argument to leapfrog ahead.
  3. ^deal (or did you mean to specify "official renderings" ;))
  4. What record? Actually, the fence (which I suspect pre-dated the clinic) is typical for low density industrial areas such as this where property crime is the chief concern. The very large gate is open everytime I drive past and there is no guard sitting at it.

I like Gee on the team and in the rotation. Every team needs a 'scrapper' and he fits that mold. He is our best lock-down, on-the-ball wing defender. And he's a good off-the-ball defender as well. His outside shot and ball-handling are problematic, but he's a hard worker and I expect that he will improve in those areas. Keep in mind that he was a PF in college at Alabama. His value to the team is being able guard the best wing player on the other team.

Agreed, although I think he thought he was going to get a whistle by bringing his arms up through the defender.

One of my earliest memories watching basketball was one of those classic LAL-Celtics games and Magic did the same thing. The announcers told the audience to mark it down in their memories and I apparently did. That was very much unlike Kyrie. It's too bad, because he was absolutely dynamic in bringing us back into that game and giving us a shot to win it at the end. We all know that Brown is far from an offensive genius (you gotta take the bad with the good). The one thing I was looking for, however, with this second run was better play calling at the end of the game. I was watching the huddle closely before that play and Brown looked like he was drawing up something complex to win it. However, when we inbound the ball, we see the exact same 1-4 set which was used exclusively during the Lebron era. WTF?
  8. It will indeed make an impact on the skyline from the east shoreway. Once you get to 55th, you are approaching downtown from somewhat of an angle from the NE...... it will fit in the view right between the Federal bldg and the Justice Ctr

Leaving aside whether or not those should be called “civilizations”, all of those lack the degree of intelligence required for self-awareness. Which almost by definition is a requirement for any sense of individual identity. Your analogy comes closer to making my point than it does to refuting it. As long as it makes sense in your own head, I suppose that is all that matters
  10. I have to downgrade myself to *maybe*...... but I do hope to at least do a cameo if I'm not able to stay longer

As we learned during his previous run, a hot outside shooting team (Bucks were on fire last night) is the achilles heel of the Mike Brown defensive system which relies on 'shrinking the floor'. Think back to the Magic Conf. Champ series. Albeit a loss, it was good to see the backcourt showing how potent it can be with a combined 50pts.

Although this might be setting the bar embarrisingly low, here's another good story about Kasich doing the "right thing".... http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2013/11/rep_jim_renacci_urged_ohio_gov.html#incart_river_default#incart_m-rpt-2
  14. Can you bring the streetcar project with you?
  15. Why even report that they were male? That describes even more people! Don't stop there. While we're dumbing it down, why not gripe about the fact that the article makes clear the suspect is a human and not some Bigfoot passing through town. (No offense to anybody who goes on Bigfoot hunts)

Jeez. You are talking about one of the most dynamic 4th quarter players over the past two years. It's not giving him a pass to refuse to disregard his proven long term success over a subpar start to the season through 4 games

Fixed-gear bicycles, fedoras, ironic t-shirts, and mustaches (especially pointy retro ones) all rank higher in hipsterdom than thick black glasses. How about making a scarf part of your outfit, as opposed to something you put on with a jacket when going outside..... and actually thinking that it makes you look cool (even though I know you're hot as sh!t wiith that thing wrapped around your neck in the middle of summer

I always preferred "whacks"...... if there has to be a term The other term..... feel free to use it at your own risk. I recall a college professor of mine who reportedly made a student he heard using the term stand up in front of the multi-racial class to explain the etymology
  19. i-phone app was used to locate three men who had robbed a woman in CH. Sounds like she knew one of the guys, so while identifying at least one of the suspects might not have been difficult, the use of the app makes a conviction much easier. Three guys in a white car. That matches the description of the suspects involved in two robberies last week. Police have not made a firm connection, but hopefully they will. The suspects are reported to be from Euclid, EC, and SE. They were located at an apartment complex in Richmond Hts. That seems to happen a lot with the suspects of CH crimes not being CH residents. Not sure why. The PD's story - http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2013/11/iphone_app_helps_police_catch.html#incart_river_default No.... they don't give the race of the suspects who were arrested.

I can buy no LESS than 3 more wins..... but I have to think we are good enough to win more and odds are that we will IMHO. Consider this impressive stat which they highlighted during the game yesterday. The Browns defense is #1 in the entire NFL in yards allowed per play. They held Baltimore under the average we were leading the league at, so the average actually went down yesterday. I like that stat regardless, but what makes it even more impressive is that the Browns defense has been on the field (mostly due to the 3 and outs from our offense) more than all but three defensive units. That pass play yesterday to Smith was actually the longest pass they have surrended all season.
  21. Yes on New England and Carolina. Those were the two more obvious ones. I suppose you could make the argument for Washington, although the same could probably be made for both New York teams. But none of those three was the third one. I honestly expected more from you folks ;) EDIT: And then Keith edits his answer with the Tampa Bay. Bingo. There is no municipality called Tampa Bay. There is Tampa and there is St. Petersburg, which combine to make up "Tampa Bay"
  22. I know a few people who have bought fixer-upper duplexes to live in one side and rent out the other. The one recommendation I'd have, given our housing stock, is to be particularly mindful of the foundation and the overall "bones" of the house. Look out for slants in the floor, distortions in the archways, etc. IMO, people tend to focus too much on the cosmetic stuff and other areas which require maintenance regardless (paint, floors, roof, etc). All that can be fixed, but a bad foundation tends to turn a house into a real money pit.
  23. How would you write the code specifically? I mean building code, fire code, that sort of thing. Be strict about it. As I said, many of these guys are fly by night types. They won't want to make any investments they don't have to. Also, work with landlords in the same manner. Some of them enable this kind of crap, others are just sold a bill of goods. As far as the bond goes, that you can tie into the liquor license. The first paragraph makes sense, I think. Although I am not sure that the City HAS been lax in this area with these establishments. And the other problem would be the dangers of 'selective enforcement' which can get the City in some deep doo-doo. As for the bond, I don't think the existing bars and clubs would be too happy about that. You couldn't tie in an increased bond to the type of music you play or the crowd you draw in..... so it would have to be an across the board increase by the state for each business which hold a liquor license.
  24. ^It's tough because those non-conference opponents must be scheduled YEARS in advance. Next year's game against VT has been scheduled for nearly a decade. When you agree to those games, you never know how good the opponent will be when you actually play them.

^Only three more wins? We still have Jax on the schedule and play Pittsburgh twice. We also play two banged up teams in the Bengals and Bears, and a completely unpredictable Jets team. If they don't finish at least 8-8, I would be highly disappointed. At New England is really the only overwhelmingly tough game we have left.
